Why isn't Phil Steele given the same treatment as Bleacher Report? What makes him so special?

Nothing. Nothing at all. Now if he had 68000 posts to his credit on a message board, that would be a different story.

given how anemic uf's offense has been, injuries aside, i don't know that i see them winning 10 games ... it wouldn't bother me of they won only win 3 or 4, if only to keep lsu fans from bitching about ua/ut ... mushcamp's got to do something this year or he's gone, and i just don't see their offense improving enough to help that outstanding defense ...

That being said, UF was literally decimated with injuries last year. No one could predict that.
So no one could predict injuries, but Steele can predict a lack of injuries.
He's a regular Miss Cleo.

Why the extra time spent on Steele?

The thread title is your first clue.

I wouldn't be surprised of UF has a big turn around.
They could have an Auburn like turn around

Driskel > whatever scrub LSU will have at QB this year

Discussing Phil Steele in a thread about Phil Steele.
How weird.

He seriously knows his shite. Easily could tell you the backup center's name on Idaho's team.
Noone can accurately predict games, he just gives what should and could happen.
He's also impressive to listen to on XM radio on Friday mornings.

I see a double digit loss for them in Tuscaloosa.

2013 Florida was very similar to 2012 Auburn. Extremely talented team who had everything go wrong. They should see major improvements. Steele is right about their defense. It is ridiculously talented. All they need is an offense with half a pulse. UF has an absolutely brutal schedule though (Bama, LSU, and FSU in addition to their East schedule).

Except Auburn got a new coach.

How could he even know that?

BECAUSE he is Phil Steele and he is paid to know and predict injuries..he is omnipresent and a diety amongst mere mortal football writer hacks.
Double digit my rear end...how about 11-1 and maybe even 12-0? You feel me? We are kicking down the front door, snatching the womenfolk, raiding the fridge and drinking milk from the carton, taking your cheese...no one can stop us!!!!
