Was one of them on hot pursuit when BCG got fired? That famous vid with him faking being on the phone was epic. Chasing him down the hall LMAO.
No, that was Allen Cutler of WLEX, Channel 18 News. It was classic though; and Allen was a good sports reporter IMO

Recently read a pretty detailed article about that fiasco.
What a cluterF BCG was. I knew he was creepy, but it took it to a whole new level.
Some crazy crap about him talking sleezy to some woman about killing his wife with poison shrroms? Do most UK fans know about that?

Pat Forde, Pete Thamel & Dana Oneill have spent the last 6 years sifting through Calipari's garbage. So far they haven't come up with anything.
With UK's current exposure, facilities, record of getting players drafted, they should probably look more at players that go other place.
Kentucky basketball has not been in NCAA trouble in over 25 years now. The players in the last 6 years have been close to model citizens on and off the court under Calipari.

He was and UK wrote him a $3 mil check to take his creep show elsewhere.

Pat Forde is the devil's spawn and lives in Louisville. If there was a hair out of place between Coach Cal's cheeks, Forde would know about it.

1) To my knowledge, there have been 0 allegations or suspicious activities that have come to surface out of UK during his tenure.
While at UK... IMO I don't think he does anymore but I think the kids knows he pumps 1st rounders out every year and flock to him now. He set this up years ago so now he doesn't have to do it anymore.

That begs the question. Where is Cal going next? Toronto, Cleveland or Brooklyn? He was already in Memphis...

Why would he go anywhere? He has the best coaching job in sports right now.

Your link doesn't support anything you claim. Aside from the point shaving, which obviously Rupp would have done something about had he known, nothing is alleged against Rupp, Joe B. Hall or Pitino. I'll give you that Eddie Sutton cheated; that's why he was fired after 4 seasons.
quote:
quote:
In his 1931-72 reign at Kentucky, the abrasive Rupp became noted for his ability to disregard and flaunt recruiting legality and remuneration limits for his players. As Ken Johnson, the incomparable KU court historian in Des Moines, points out: “In the 1930s and ’40s, 386 of the Wildcat wins were generated when there was virtually no oversight in college basketball. Transgressions never were penalized. Since then, though, the Kentucky basketball program has continuously been documented as one of the most criminal of all NCAA Division I schools.
“Rupp’s 1952-53 squad was nailed with what amounted to the NCAA’s first death penalty (cancelled season) because of payments to players. It all came to light during an investigation into a point-shaving scandal involving players during the ’49 season.” Kentucky won the NCAA title in ’48, ’49 and ’51 at the height of the horrendous fixing scandals; the NCAA never rescinded a trophy or a single victory.
A judge called Rupp’s UK program the acme of commercialization and overemphasis. He said he found covert subsidization of players, ruthless exploitation of athletes, cribbing at examinations, illegal recruiting, reckless disregard for physical welfare, matriculation of unqualified students and flagrant abuse of the athletic scholarship concept.
crickets........

I've already addressed this material. By it's own admission it was written by a Kansas basketball "historian" No bias there

How much did he get away with in Fayetteville? Its hard to imagine that one day in Lexington he just said,"jeepers, I need to bend the rules." Had to have started at Arkansas if not at Creighton.

well, Joe B did do him a favor by having such a mediocre team in 1985.

quote:1985 was a bad year but Joe B. got them to the Sweet 16. In 1986, Eddie had a pretty seasoned and talented roster, Kenny Walker, Winston Bennett, Ed Davender, James Blackmon and Roger Harden. Walker was an NBA star and Bennett played several years in the NBA. The other 3 were veteran guards. Depth was the issue. He choked against LSU in the Elite Eight which set his tenure on a downward spiral

No doubt.
His biggest success came with the triplets though and they were all in state guys.
Not sure if he actually bent the rules to land talent, moreso to land drug connections etc is the popular rumor on the hill.
