Video games? Seriously?

If y'all IRL $10 says it'll be at a dungeons and dragons convention.

See the Alabama textbook scandal for clarification.

in the textbook case, the university was negligent and was punished because of that.... it's highly unlikely (based on the established facts at this point in time) that Auburn could be held responsible or punished for the actions of a student's parent when the student wasn't even associated with Auburn yet. The only way that could happen is if Auburn knew of Cecil's play for pay and just crossed our fingers nothing would happen.... but how do you prove Auburn had knowledge?... it would be almost impossible.

True... more facts could come out.... but it's been almost three months and nothing concrete has been established. There is no money. There is no connection to Auburn. the COI would be hard pressed to punish a university for the actions of someone who was not a member of the program yet.

Meh... I think there could be an incredibly strong argument made that Auburn was negligent in their actions considering what they knew and when they knew it.

It would be what the investigators referenced before the Georgia game.

The textbook case was not nearly on the same level as pay for play.

Pat Dye said it's not true and then later said he has no comment.

so the committee that punishes universities is gonna punish Auburn University for the actions of another university's boosters?

come on.

as for textbook case.... there really is no comparison.... now had glenn coffee been enrolled at MSU, received free textbooks, then transfered to Alabama.... maybe then the cases would be comparable.

bottom line is the COI is not going to punish Auburn for something we were not apart of and had no knowledge of.

You are assuming this is limited to the Newton investigation. I don't think that is the case.

well what you 'think' and what's been established are two totally different things..... we're talking about the real world... not fantasy land.

Excuse me for positing a theory on an Internet forum. Very little actually has been "established."

I am speculating, just the same as those who assume there are no damaging facts regarding AU's knowledge of pay to play.

But by all means, continue to be defensive about my speculation.
