Patterson had zero 3rd down conversions. Zero.

His play calls were literally fake hand off, slants with 5 rushers against 4 OL. Every time.

He had no shot.

All you will learn Saturday is that Stidham can hit open receivers and Patterson is good at taking an open blitz sack.

Steele hardly ever blitzes. In fact against Moo State, he was dropping 8 into coverage and only bringing 3 most of the time.

He only did that a couple of times (not effectively either). Several times he rushed 3 from the line and brought Holland on a delay blitz from a lb slot.

Then you might get to see some Manziel-esque voodoo. Patterson can do some of that.

Patterson coaching and supporting cast is suspect.

Hell, they should hire Sumlin to take advantage of his skill set. Or Kingsbury.

Eh that's not exactly true. He dropped 8 a few times on 3rd & long to try and contain Fitz as a runner. He also dialed up a few Cover 0 calls where AU had 6-7 guys coming on the blitz. But for most part he just relies on our front 4 to get the job done which they have

He is the closest thing to Jonny Manziel I've seen in college football since 2013. His feet just glide around and he's always looking downfield.

Ole Miss just doesn't seem to coach their receivers to purposely come back like A&M did such a good job of doing.

FIFY

We need a real coach asap. It hurts watching these talented players run a high school offense under Longo

I'd take Patterson. He has the ability to extend plays and is constantly looking downfield to throw it. With a better than average OL and an adequate running game, he would be tough as hell to defend!!!

Stidham, you still have a very small sampling of his work. At Baylor, you had defenses that were God awful except for OU, a game he lost. This year, the best defense he has faced to date, sacked him like a bag of groceries and they lost. A lot of factors still to consider. The quality of defense faced, the health of the run game, and the health of the OL.

Honestly, I think Patterson is better suited for Malzahn's offense and Stidham is better suited for Longo's system.

I would agree with this!! Patterson with the RPOs, read option and play action game, while Stidham takes the snap and air mails the ball downfield.

No shite. I felt like drop kicking him. In fact, I think those were the only times Miss State picked up 3rd and long plays.

Tagovailoa, but of the two options, Patterson because he can beat you with his arm, but is also more mobile.

Both are accurate, but I prefer Patterson. I can usually spot the chokers and Stidham is a choker under pressure.

From what I have seen, Patterson with Stidham's supporting cast would be the better QB but obviously hypothetical.
