With Pat Dye today,

I just enjoy the fact that bama fans are still obssessed and talk about Dye every day 20 years after he retired.

It really does show just how much damage he did to the pysche of many bama fans.

I was THRILLED when he got his office in the athletic office. It was my favorite thing about the Chizik hire, and I thought it meant amazing things for Alabama. As long as he's got that at Auburn, I'm still happy.

Where do you people get this stuff? Hell, Smart didn't need full disclosure of the NCAA probe, he should have just signed in to SEC Rant and asked the Alabama fans on here.

Jay Jacobs seems to really want an "Auburn Man" even if he isn't the best guy for the job. I am just echoing what I have seen on this board from AU posters, and I think he should go.

I know two Bama fans who've lived their entire lives in Birmingham who claim one of their parents worked directly under Bobby Lowder at Colonial Bank.

Bama nation is not generally viewed as a very intelligent group, so what do you expect?

I just like that they are still bothered by Dye, even today and talk about him every day of the year.

Dye has to be amused. Got to be great entertainment for an old man.

The Bo Jackson who has a degree, and runs a health food company and a bank? I'm sure he can barely spell. RMFT

How about an original answer then Spanky or even a recycled one since you're concerned.

How about being concerned about your own fricking team for once? Y'all are about to play for a "15th" national title, yet you are fricking OBSESSED about what is going on down on the plains.

They are actually obsessed with a nearly 80 year old man that retired 20 years ago. I think it is cute.

Well, my godfather lived in Montgomery and was his lawyer for years before he retired. He's an Auburn guy, but doesn't really like the current influence structure. Now I have family members who work at Lightfoot. It's not that hard to fathom, really. Legal representation crosses alumni lines.

Who will Dye pick as the OC/DC. According to Scarbo - the coach doesn't have the luxory of hiring his staff.

I'm sure this will go over well on BOL. I find it amusing/sad that you Bammers believe everything that Scarbo and Finebum pump out. Earlier this week (yesterday AM), Bammers were telling us that Auburn was gonna hire Kirby Smart because that's who Dye wanted. Are yall truly this stupid? Never mind, I already know the answer to that......

I think most Aubies will agree. Personally, I preferred Kirby Smart over Gus. Of course Petrino or Patterson were who most of us really wanted.

Or maybe its becuase he is on Finebaum and in the papers every week running his suckhole on the state of Auburn and everything else in the SEC.....otherwise he would be as forgetable as the rest of your under-performing coaches like Shug Jordan or Terry Bowden....for a coach who never won shite, he sure acts like he is the dean of SEC coaches.... He just went on the record saying he wanted Smart and not Gus....its amazing to me that AU doesn't slap a muzzle on him... this guy still acts like he is the offical spokeman for the Auburn "family"
