Paging BAMA fans that remember Debose, Shula

Seeing as LSU has done the unthinkable, thanks to a spineless and cowardly AD/administration, by hiring the familiar face that "loves" LSU, I am curious. How did you deal when Alabama did the same? I can't drink much more than I already am. More golf I guess.

It was horrible. Get ready for pain.

You'll enjoy the wins more, that's for sure.

It's gonna be a long ride in the wilderness, what's worse is Bama already has 6 in a row on you...might get to 11-12 now

Dark times my friend. Lots of liquor.

Bama fans were responsible for the DuBose hire and excited when he was announced. They had a "fax campaign" to bombard the AD with faxes encouraging the hire of DuBose, because he was one of "Bear's boys."
Shula was just a stop gap and we were in pretty bad shape at the time. There weren't any high expectations for a big hire.

Similar in a lot of ways to the idiot fans we have through social media campaigning for O. My god. What have we done.

You guys don't get it. This is a great hire. Watch who he surrounds himself with before ya'll make your judgments.

Not sure it's 100% the same.
By the time Shula came, I was just happy not to have a coach that was embarrassing us.
I've always felt Shula did a decent job considering the circumstances. Don't think Saban would have even remotely considered coming to Alabama if not for the work Shula did in repairing the program.

Bobby Bowden wanted the BAMA job in 1986 (Perkins left to be HC at Tampa Bay after the '86 season), but our dumbarse Pres. wanted Bill Curry instead.
Bowden played one year for Bryant but transferred to Howard Univ in B'ham (now called Samford) due to his desire to get married. Coach Bryant didn't allow his players to be married at that time.
Bowden grew up a BAMA fan and said that was his dream job.
This move by Joab Thomas was a bigger mistake than Dubose, and we hired Shula due to sanctions.

That's how I feel about Dinardo. Without him, we would still be tumbling into obscurity. This feels like a reset on that. O is Archer and ????? Is Dinardo.

Yep. You will be an underdog a lot so the "upset" wins over teams like arkansas or ole miss will feel awesome. You will celebrate close losses to big 6 schools as moral victories. It will take at least a decade to recover from this hire.

We actually had initial excitement for Shula. That turned ugly though.

This is the analogy I got from it.
Shula was the best we could do because no high profile coaches wanted the job.
Coach O was the best you could do because no high profile coach wanted the job.
Then you would be correct sir.

Personally, I masturbated.
A lot.
Usually while crying.
