The only place I've ever been in Oklahoma is Boise City. It was the middle of the summer, and it was the hottest, dustiest, flattest, most desolate place I've ever seen. Hopefully, Norman is not like that.

At least they are trying. They should visit Auburn, LSU and Florida this year.

OU thinks they will be competitive in football in sec
Similar to Aggies it will be at least 10 years to even sniff a sec title

OU and Texas will be comparable to LSU while they are in the SEC.

I'm telling y'all, some of you will be in for a rude awakening once they join. Josh Pate mentioned it on his podcast a few weeks ago, Kentucky and Arkansas and the Mississippi schools who think they are hot shite because they play in the same conference as Bama, LSU, and UGA will be licking their wounds after winning 2 or 3 against OU and Texas per decade.

You're only in the same conference as the big boys because back in the day they had to ride a bus to games and geography mattered. The best thing Mississippi has ever done is be next to Louisiana, Tennessee, and Alabama.

Reading the article completely it appears the University and Norman have a long way to go to catch up.

If you’ve been there, yes they do

They’ve been the tallest midget in the B12 for too long

Been to Austin twice with Auburn (84,91). Never played Oklahoma in Norman. Had our arse handed to us a couple times in New Orleans by them though!!! Lol

"In enlightening meetings with Maddox and other city officials, chamber of commerce employees and the convention and visitors bureau, the Normanites learned that, despite just 95,000 residents in Tuscaloosa to Norman’s 130,000, Tuscaloosa’s average economic benefit on a game day weekend is $30 million. Norman’s is only $11 million."

"Furthermore, the prosperity in Tuscaloosa helps it employ 295 sworn police officers to Norman’s 151, according to Pyle, and the total impact is seen in its 1,400 public service employees to Norman’s 900."

We bust each others chops regularly... that's part of our passion for this sport.
As an old fart who goes to every away game and has watched each university/campus grow since the 80's, top to bottom there is not another conference that can come close to what a weekend in the south is about. Just as much passion in Starkville, Ms on Saturday night as there is in Red Stick as there is in Knoxville, Gainesville and all points in between. Both new members are going to have to step up and spend some bucks to catch up with the "Arms Race" that is the SEC.
Not a knock on either school.

You're either full of shite, or your sister, BIL, and their friends are idiots.

That said, OU will be just fine in the SEC. Better than most, not as good as the best.

It would be nice to have a civil conversation for once.
Very respectfully to you... you are wrong! Only one you mention is not a charter member.

That is a GREAT article to read! I learned quite a bit about Fayetteville, AR, Tuscaloosa, AL, and Lexington, KY, that I hadn't come across before.

Oklahoma's a great state....I love it and it's people. Norman's going to be a huge "must go to" game on every SEC fan's agenda.

Thanks for posting this.

Unless you know what your schedule is going to look like, but otherwise, yeah, pretty odd choices.

Been telling y'all for a decade. Big 12 gamedays suck. OU is far and away the best in the Big 12, and even they are in awe of an SEC game experience.

Baton Rouge is an awesome city. I have lived in Texas and in Georgia, and BR is a better place to visit and live than what those states offer.
