Fayetteville is a top 3-5 sec town. Beautiful campus and surrounding area. Fans have always been great too.

At first I was wondering why those 3 places, but it kind of makes sense. The crowd in Norman has more in common with Kentucky and Arkansas. And they checked out Alabama as a “goal” as far as what a top tier winning program offers.

A trip to LSU or Florida to see how wild and crazy the party can be is pointless for them because that’s not the type of fans they have.

The OU folks were hoping they could get a "Walmart type" of partnerships with OU because they see themselves as. A national brand.

I guess the OU folks don't understand that Walmart, Tyson, JB Hunt and U of A are essentially dyed in the wool together because for decades they were about the only reason anyone even went to that corner of the state.

They are recipricol partners as well. If one does well, they all do well.

That is not something you ar going to be able to recruit to. It's basically a loyalty thing that goes back 50+ yrs in most cases.

Well, they mentioned it in the article a couple of times why those places were selected:

- Norman officials and economic development strategists who journeyed to three SEC schools — Arkansas, Alabama and Kentucky — during their home football weekends that coincided with Sooners road games last season.

-Those schools and municipalities were selected given their similarities to OU and Norman.

Guess you didn't read the article.

Oklahoma has an established relationship with Kentucky because of the Stoops brothers. Bob has popped up at our fall and spring practices often.

That's a good read tkeefer.

I've been to a lot of games in a lot of places, while following the Gamecocks over the years (including Nebraska). Oklahoma's place has always been on my bucket list.

Shane Beamer has had a lot of good things to say about his time there.

Spencer Rattler has publicly stated that SC has better facilities ... he didn't say it in a mean or disgruntled fashion.

I'm almost certain that the big tight end who returned to be with his girlfriend has already told his buddies the same.

I really liked the atmosphere at Nebraska but ... it was laid back compared to most SEC stadiums.

I've been to quite a few games at Texas, theirs (and A&M's) facilities are second to none.

I have zero doubt that being members of the SEC is going-to raise the bar, in terms of overall intensity, in both Austin and Norman.

In the B12 there are a handful of places that might be comparable-to every stadium experience in the SEC with the exception of Vandy (football) which is our Duke, Northwestern, Stanford member.

Every place is unique in the SEC, every place has their own special traditions, from cowbells to Cockabooses and Sir Spur, from Rocky Top to War Eagle, from Gator Chomp to Mike to Roll Tide to Uga.

I'm looking forward to seeing Boomer Sooner.

This may help explain the Kentucky connection, I hadn’t thought of that.

The assessment of Tuscaloosa is spot on. The in-stadium experience is mediocre. The screen situation in the stadium is just bad.
