ONE DAY until SEC baseball begins

Beautiful forecast this weekend in Starkville as its supposed to be 72 and sunny Friday afternoon at 4PM when we open our 2011 season.
I may be reading into the hype machine, but its John Cohen's third year at Mississippi State building up his program, and FWIW after two tough years at Kentucky (similar to his first two at Mississippi State) he went 44-17 and won the SEC. Im not expecting that much, but I really believe that this is the year Cohen turns things around in Starkville and puts Mississippi State baseball back where it should be among the elite teams in the SEC.

Mississippi State 8 CWS appearances, 28 NCAA regionals, 11 SEC Titles, and 6 SEC tournament titles.
I think we have done enough in the history of our program to talk about baseball.

Honestly you dont know ANYTHING about SEC baseball before 2000 do you?
Especially since we have more of EVERYTHING I listed than Arkansas baseball.

Of course I do. I know we have won more SEC titles since 1992 than Miss State has. I also know we have been to as many CWS since the SEC expanded.

6-24 is what MSU was a year ago. Your program is an afterthought.

Here's some more Mississippi State baseball knowledge for you.
Mississippi State currently holds the NCAA record for the largest single game on-campus baseball attendance at 14,991 and the largest SEC crowd for a 3-game weekend series at 29,915. In 2007 versus the Clemson Tigers, MSU had the NCAA's top two all-time highest attended Super Regional games with 12,620 and 13,715 fans. (I was at BOTH of these games)
Mississippi State has all of the top 14 and 22 of the top 25 on-campus crowds in the history of college baseball, including 9 crowds over 12,000 and 24 crowds over 10,000.

Gone to 16 NCAA Regionals, 3 SEC Touney championships, and and 4 CWS.
Arkansas has gone to 15 Regionals and only 2 CWS in the same time period. Not to mention you have NEVER won the SEC tournament.

Better pitching and hitting. We had our top two pitchers miss most of last season with injuries as well as two other pitchers who didn't pitch at all. All four of them are expected to contribute as well as some good arms coming in from the freshman class including Hunter Renfroe who has been clocked at 98MPH this spring and is expected to be our closer.
We return 6 starters in the field and should be a very solid hitting team and have the speed to play small ball which will be needed with the new bats that are being used this year.

I cant wait till some baseball this fri @ 3:00.
I am gonna have some friends coming into town the weekend we play State so maybe yall will be worth a frick this year and that'll be a big late-season series in the West.
