Hawgeye, is just a pissed off little cybernerd virgin that tries to flame and talk shite and HATE, because a guy says he's excited about his team. Hell we won 5 football games the year before. Does that mean we had no reason to be excited about football last year. Grow the frick up and quit being a dumb arse that just likes to do anything he can to try and be a dick and turn a positive thread into a negative flame. You worry about Arky, us state fans know who are coach is and we know where our program is headed. I didn't talk shite to an Arky fan the 75 years our program was better than yours. Just relax, quit the shite talking, and we'll let the kids play it out on the field.

MSU was in the College world series in 07. Its not like we have gone without success for decades and decades. Sure, we have had some rough years lately, but the guy we have leading our boys will get the job done. He has proven that if you give him 3 years, he can turn a program around, and I can assure you he has brought in a bunch of talent that he feels are ready to be competitive. I'm excited, no matter what some pissed at the world arse hole says about it.

We should be the most improved team in the SEC this year. Our pitchers are all healthy unlike last season and our freshmen are now sophomores.

Its been above freezing now for over 72 hours straight. Most of the blizzard has melted away. There is still snow in some areas and piles of the shite everywhere, but Baum should be good to go.
Friday's forecast calls for a high around 60, so I expect high 50s at the first pitch. I'll take it.

FWIW Mississippi State had more innings pitched by freshmen than any other baseball program in the nation last season.
I grew up watching MSU baseball and LSU was our biggest rival back then, but we respected the hell out of y'all. Skip and Polk used to have some battles on the diamond.

Do you guys think the new bats are going to make a really big difference this season???
I have been told that HR numbers will be cut in half maybe more, and the new bats are like hitting with a wooden bat with a very small sweet spot.

PS... Why does State have to have a fricking film festival on the opening friday of the season? Not only am I missing the opening game , but I have to go there to miss it.

I asked a buddy of mine that same question. He says that wood bats would put a lot of programs out of business due to having to purchase so many over the course of a season, with practice, games, etc. I never thought of that, but outside the SEC, a lot of smaller programs live on the margins.
