I'm mildly pessimistic.

1. Bama
2. Road game
3. Kelly's first real game

I will say that I never in a million years thought we would look this good offensively though. Even against cupcakes. We've played cupcakes in the past and have been nowhere near as dominating. I'm just taking a believe it when I see it approach.

I'm not talking shite to anyone until then.

I am anxious to see Bama play an emotionally charged game. I was disappointed by the lack of cohesiveness of the offense this week, and the lack of a push by the defensive line. We'll have to have better QB play, and the field goal unit will have to get it together. If we correct those problems, we will be hard to beat.

Alabama QB problem is HUGE. It will cost them at least 1 game - maybe 2 or 3. If I close my eyes and squeeze as tight as I can I still can't envision Alabama not losing a couple because they don't have a QB.

eta- at the moment Ole Miss +6 looks like a LOCK!

I saw where Bama opened as an 8.5 point favorite. How do Ole Miss fans feel about this? Kind of a slap in the face???

Ole Miss is not good offensively. They will struggle to score 17 on the tide. Those 70pts on Cupcakes were a mirage
They sucks upfront even with Tunsil and their play call is amongst the worse in the SEC. Their defense is overrated as well. Bama will rush for 200+ yards and the Ole Miss hype will die.

I'm not really sure how to respond to that.

70 pts per game ain't gonna happen, Bama has a really good front 7. My Bama friends have expressed concern with Kelly and his receivers. The Ole Miss D ain't nothin to sneeze at. That is why they play...We shall see.

Coker is the x-factor for sure. He is the biggest unknown on both sides of the ball for either team. We know Bama and Ole Miss have good overall defenses. Both teams have good WR/TE talent. Bama can run well and Ole Miss passes well. Coker is the crux of it all bc who the hell knows what we are going to get.

Ole Miss has shut down Henry two years running, so I think theyll be confident to do so again. I expect a lot of early misdirection and trickeration from Kiffin to take advantage of a Ole Miss defense that can be overly-aggressive. Expect a lot of smoke and mirrors in order to set up the running game for later. I doubt Bama will just try to show up and run straight at Ole Miss.

Ole Miss has question marks in the offensive run game as well, so Tunsil playing is paramount. Ole Miss doesn't need to rush for 200 yards, just needs to be enough of a threat to keep the defense somewhat honest. Ole Miss has an advantage vs Bama's secondary.

Both teams have sandbagged in preparation for this contest. Points at a premium and raucous atmosphere - seems like a 24-21 Bama win.

No one knows what the black bears can do against a decent opponent. I think it will be a good game. I will be pleased either way. I work with obnoxious arse holes from both fan bases. And no, ours aren't any better.

We can't stop a good ground game. And with Shep and Hampton out, and Gross, we will get pounded.

We've got 2 new players on the d-line -- speaks and jones - and they will be worn down by 3rd quarter.

Prediction: Kelly to Walton in the corner with 2 minutes left to take the lead. Elston interceps with no time remaining on hail mary to Howard.

Sadly, this game is a make or break for us. I don't see Bama laying down 2 more games for us to afford a loss. We come in strong but alabama runs the clock keeping the score down. 35 24 OM

There are question marks on both sides.

Will Coker be smart with the football? Will he be able to make accurate throws into tight coverage if he needs to?

Same goes for Kelly. This is his first road test for one. Secondly, he hasn't been pressured and hit yet. I'm curious to see what kind of decisions he makes when 280 pounders are breathing down his neck.

Our right tackle scares me in pass protection, but I think we'll be able to get after Kelly too.

Henry is a different back this year, we'll have success on the ground. I look for Drake to play a big role in the passing game. Kiffin will look to get him the ball in the flat and across the middle. Quick easy throws where he is one-on-one with a linebacker.

I'm expecting a good ball game, I'm certainly not marking a W on the schedule hanging on my fridge before Saturday. Too many unknowns at this point
