Going back to the League's Spring conference in Fla. last Spring, it seemed the A.D. was completely behind Freeze & his program. Has anything changed in this regards & if so, would it have more to do with the way the season played out or more with the NCAA's investigation? What does your roster look like next year, talent & depth wise?

I dont think so. To the in-depth fan, we realize there were big offensive problems because of our second half performance, but to the everyday fan the only problem this year was defense. Those are the type of fans you pander to with scapegoat coaches.

I could be wrong but I've heard with Werner getting married that he would no longer be under the special needs waiver and couldnt have someone recruit for him. Werner told Freeze he was still going to stay at home and Freeze cut him loose. With as many disadvantages OM has, we have to be as efficient as possible in recruiting to succeed at high level and your OC not recruiting isnt being efficient.

I don't think the blame deserves to fall on Warner. Yes there were offensive problems. But is that Warner's fault or the playcaller's fault aka CHF. I blame CHF, Warner is OC in title only. He doesn't call the plays.

we were succeeding in ways we never had before in the modern era. Chickens came to roosts this year though and we got exposed.

Also, I think most Ole Miss fans realized the terrible play calling was on Freeze and not Werner. When Freeze said he would hand over more of the offensive decision to Werner, the play calling became better and so did the offense.

Then why the hell was he fired?

He wasn't the playcaller, Hugh was handling that job. He didn't screw in recruiting, Barney was handling that job.

And just a week or two ago some of your OM folks (Yancy) said Barney would be reinstated in time for the recruiting push before the dead period. WTF happened?

He had a waiver in place that allowed us to add a recruiter only member to the staff to recruit for him. Him getting married voided the waiver so he got rid of him because he is an OC who wouldnt recruit.

This philosophy is based off Freeze admitting giving Werner the reins right when we got Tunsil back and amazingly with the best OL in the school's history, the offense got better and we could run the ball. And even then, Freeze had say on 3rd downs.

I agree it got better, but we knew it would. This year it was all Freeze. So this move is confusing to say the least. And I don't really trust Freeze to make both coordinator hires in one offseason.

The reality is that , as of now, Bama, LSU, and Ole Miss are all in the market for OCs.

It will be entertaining to read the spin on who got the best guy and why

Freeze believes in recruiting wins championships. If your OC doesnt recruit and you dont have someone recruiting for him anymore due to void waiver, you arent following your philosophy of its not the x's and o's but the jimmy and joes. Agree or disagree, its not play calling but recruiting that got Werner the ax.

Supposedly Freeze had his guy before firing him so we should know soon.

I think LSU gets Sark or Helfrich so they probably win. Freeze has his guy already and supposedly its not a big name.

This is the issue. You don't fire him right now unless you absolutely have to. Your adequate hiring options over the next few months are frankly non existent and you're down a recruiter until you get the next guy on campus.

Werner wasn't a recruiter so how could they be down a recruiter? Barney was on admin leave.

I think it had more to do with needing a scapegoat for how shitty our offense was this year.

4th in the conference in total yards
1st in passing yards
4th in PPG.

not really seeing the "how shitty" aspect of this. I mean, your rushing sucked but your offense as a whole produced.
