Nothing. But did you see our offense the second half of the season?

But our OC has not changed.

After sanctions are handed down and Freeze is fired, will he be able to coach immediately after? Asking for a friend (Coach O).

literally do not go out on the recruiting trail. They might say hey or have a conversation on an OV though.

So Ole Miss is looking for an OC and a DC in the middle of an NCAA investigation? Sounds like a recipe for success to me. Get ready for a 2 year contracts with no buyouts if the coach leaves.

How has this not been a bigger complaint? It was clear Ole Miss fans were frustrated with the scheme and play calling but I never saw this brought up.

The NCAA granted a waiver that Farrar, who is not a position coach could recruit for him.

In retrospect, that appears to have been a less than ideal situation.

There has been complaint about wommack for a couple years but Werner never took the same heat bc Barney was out there in his place and Barney is/was our best recruiter on staff and we never had problems getting offensive players (sans RB). He was fired today too though.

The scheme and play calling is all Freeze. Warner is the scapegoat. This is Dave Radar all over again.

It's definitely a terrible position for Hugh to be in. I think it's all coming crashing down around him tbh.

With basically a new starting QB next year... It's the 2012 Gene Chizik Recipe for Failure (new OC + new DC + new QB + NCAA stink)

Well, I could see the OC getting more of a pass as well because of the situation with his son which is understandable. I guess it makes sense because recruiting wasn't really an issue for you guys for a majority of the time Freeze has been there. It is just really odd to see both cords. not recruiting.

So given that you typed those two statements in back-to-back sentences,
1) why do YOU think he was fired and
2) do you think this firing is going to be enough to avoid penalties greater than what you've recommended to NCAA?

Probably. He was named in the investigation.

Why the hell was Barney fired today? I thought he was just on admin leave a few weeks ago?

I can only assume/hope he was fired in an effort to appease the NCAA a little bit. He was very good at his job even without the recruiting part of it. Idk though. Hugh has been praised in past years for how he has been a great CEO of the program but right now everything is coming apart.

He's never made had to make a DC hire. Bjork will be zero help. I hope Archie can help.

What decent coordinator would join the OM staff right now?

Both will probably be position coaches looking to make a name for themselves IMO.

I'm not talking about the offense, he brought up the DC
