Mississippi has 4 guys competing for 2 open spots. The top 4 from the position last season are gone. Nobody is competing against someone that played alot last season. EVERYBODY you have there is inexperienced- and none are considered to be top talents- like the the last couple you guys have produced the last 2-3 years.

I agree to an extent. No one for sure knows what kind of talents Martin and Bennett are gonna be. They could be top tier talents as well. Time will tell the story.

Of course I do, I am a fan.

debatable. When healthy, Smith has been very good in his career. He has unfortunately had quite the injury bug throughout.

a juco transfer-

I am def concerned about Grant's ability to make that jump to SEC football but he has come in in great shape and looked very good against our massive, deep, OL. Pena is the juco that I think will flop.

Look corch, I am not saying our DL wont have it's struggles this year. They will. The SEC is the best conference for one reason: The OLs and DLs.

But I do feel like we could be better off the edge this year with a healthy Lockett, an improved Dorsey, Rivers, and Jones, and a young freak like Carlos Thompson. Add to it that our secondary will be very much improved with more speed and better coaching, I dont see why our defense cant be very much improved from last season. I am not talking top 10 defense or even top 30, but improved from last season.

Do you not agree?

Of course he doesn't. We could bring in the entire Saints roster and line-up and Coonass will call us terrible.

I think we will be able to run the ball against BYU. If we can give it to BB 25 times and run read option 10 and get about 7 or 8 PA passes and stay ahead of the sticks we should be ok. If we end up in 3 and long constantly then I will start to worry.

I really hope our back 5 (because we are running a lot of 4-2-5) are just flat out more athletic than BYU and can make up ground when the ball is in the air against them. We are going to run a lot more man on the outside this year. Marry, Kite, Willimas, CJ, and Lewis need to show me something from the LB spot for me to feel good about our defense for the year. If our LB's aren't good in run support behind our question marks at DT then its not going to be a good year.

My prediction - OM 38
BYU 28

Based on the fact we have a power running game and they are not used to September heat in Mississippi. Both of those factors should help us big time in the 4th quarter.

FWIW.....D. Jackson and Garbutt are playing at OLB with Sawyer moving to Safety with B. Mathews.

That's a lot of speed on the field...

When did this happen? Everything I have seen had Brishen playing Rover with Nichols and Nkemdiche backing him up. Why would we take our best cover corner in Sawyer and put him at safety?

He doesn't look happy. Why is he by himself? Why isn't he practicing? That picture could have been taken anywhere.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say this year Bennett and Martin will have a sack and Tobias will catch a TD

In the same game. MC's about to run this shite.
