Depends on how much they are dedicated to the run. I think our DB's may surprise some people and we will be decent against the pass this year. However, I think our run defense will be awful and anybody that decides they want to run will be able too and do so extremely well.

Shhhh....don't screw up the narrative. In the Vandy game, he only came in to run the ball a few times and didn't throw any passes. I did break down the stats vs SEC opponents in my post up above.

My bad. His biggest statistical games were against cupcakes.

After putting up gaudy numbers against Arkansas, Kentucky, and Louisiana (non-conference), he was terrible against A&M and not much better against State.

He played well against LSU for a half, yes. Probably would've been different if they had film on him and prepared for him as the starter.

I'm not saying he's terrible. But he's nothing special.

Well which one is it? That's not a description of a serviceable qb

TF outta here with this nonsense.

"When kept clean?" Is that a thing? I'm sure having a ridiculous receiving corps making diving one handed catches had a little bit to do with it too.

What was his QBR his last two games? I'll hang up and listen.

Good move. You're far too involved in a thread that has nothing to do with the team that you follow.

Or, you know, you could just answer the question.

If our linebackers improve, Ole Miss will be a very good team. If the linebackers don't improve, Ole Miss could be one of the worst teams in the conference. Last year they overran the play a lot or were out of place, and when they didn't, they weren't as physical as they needed to be. Ole Miss should be a complete SEC upper caliber team if the LB's improve. They have good players on the defensive line and the defensive backs are good. The offense should be more than adequate to compete with the better teams in the SEC. Of course, as with any team except maybe Georgia or Alabama, injuries could determine how well they play.

QBR? Try again. Hint: It's not good.

I know Ole Miss fans rustle easily, but because I called your QB serviceable? Was I supposed to say he's the next Eli? Heaven forbid I'd like to see him play a full SEC schedule first.

By the way, the answer to the question was 21.1 & 67.2.

I think it is fair to say that Tunsil was usually higher than Little.

"Terrible against A&M" - 189 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT.
"Not much better against State" - 247 yards, 2 TD's, 1 INT.

So, what you're saying is even on Ta'amu's worst day against an SEC team (189 yards), he's still better than Fitz's best day against an SEC team (180 yards).

What does that mean for Fitz. He’s athletic but can’t make all the throws.

With Fitz, it's not even about making "all the throws" - it's about making even the basic ones. It's common knowledge that Fitz is a horrendous passer. But when you break his numbers down further, then it's actually worse than most folks think.

There are three stats that really tell how poor of a QB Fitz is (conference ranking among qualified QBs):
Passer Rating - 117.6 (13)
Yards Per Attempt - 6.2 (14)
Completion Percentage - 55.6 (13)

Think about those numbers. Even though he only average 6.2 yards per pass, he had a 55.6% completion percentage. Let's compare that to the "serviceable" Ta'amu:
Passer Rating: 164.5 (2)
Yards Per Attempt: 9.7 (1)
Completion Percentage: 66.5 (T1)

I see you're playing the whole "I will only post some misleading stats and hope nobody digs any deeper and sees that I am full of shite" game.

I never said anything about Fitz. This thread has nothing to do with him. You're doing what ole miss fans do....deflect.

Fitz would be less than serviceable in your offense because he is a different kind of QB.

NOT A TROLL QUESTION: when was the last RB that Ole Miss fans were thrilled about? Was it Deuce? Can't remember a running back for OM that scared me. Again, not flaming, just curious from a fan's perspective.

Ben-Jarvis Green-Ellis 1,000 yard rusher. (Patriots and Bengals)
Brandon Bolden: 1,000 rusher (plays for the Pats)
Dexter McCluster: 1,000 rusher/everything for our 08 and 09 teams (Cheifs, Titans, Chargers)
Jordan Wilkins 1,000 rusher (will play for colts this year)

We’ve had lots of success at this spot since Deuce. Just usually they are under the radar since none have been highly ranked coming out of high school or overshadowed by other SEC backs.
