What would be best for a sit down dinner Friday night?

ETA: and for the poster who said we'd need rides how hard is it to get a cab on gameday?

I'm partial to Lenora's, but City Grocery is legit.

The Ravine is also pretty solid, but it's a few minutes outside Oxford. As is Taylor Grocery.

Im high on The Grillhouse right now and I have also heard good things about Delta Steak Co. which is off the square, easy to find though. Lenora's and CG are great too though - cant go wrong. Just depends on what yall want to try.

As far as cabs, when yall are riding up id do some research, call around the diff cab companies, and talk to someone about getting their personal cell - otherwise you'll be waiting forever on a cab.

Ok cool.

Last question: what about open containers, is that frowned upon or will we be ok?

Putting it in a cup obviously always makes you more in the clear but I'd be careful walking around the square friday/sat night with a cup - cops are shitheads up here.

Now on gameday, youll be fine because people are walking everywhere, the cops arent as bad during that time, and the volume of people is just so high.

For instance, I always walk to the grove/baseball games with a drink in a solo but I'm very careful when doing that on the square due to the a-hole cops' presence.

Do you know what street yall's house is on?

Eat at bouré on Friday. Get there early though and put your name down and chill in the bar upstairs while you wait. You can relax on the balcony and the weather will be amazing.

SnackBar or City Grocery if you can get a table

Snack Bar is the place to eat.
Rooster's is the place for a beer (you're in your 20's). Upstairs bars at Boure and City Grocery are nice but for older folks like me.
Big Bad Breakfast is the place for brunch.

All the food and drink recommendations people have been making are spot on. I would also advise you all to not be frickfaces. Mississippi is the Hospitality State for a reason. If you're cool, then people will happily buy you drinks. I always buy drinks for cool visiting fans.

Lame as frick visiting fans (and any State fans I don't already know) are the people I throw piss balloons at. (what, you think you guys own that shite?)

Is legit....

Went up for a baseball series in 2012. Had a freaking blast, seriously, did everything. Ajax chicken on a stick, played the Ole Miss golf course, snuck into the football stadium. Also took shots with half the LSU baseball team the Saturday Night at the Library.

Went with an Ole Miss grad so he gave us the tour. I will be making the return trip this year for baseball.

I think we've narrowed it down to boure or city grocery for dinner Friday night. Seriously appreciate all the help everyone.

I would say the two best places in Oxford are Boure and Snackbar. Avoid Big Bad Breakfast...long wait, and it's just breakfast food...nothing special.

I don't think you'll have to worry about our group doing the haka at any bars.
