I guess it gets more than I gave it credit for just off the cuff. All I was trying to get across was that it seems like Cola could have its own place for those things and USC have its own place. Its a nice arena, clearly that was not what I was trying to say. Just that maybe USC would be better off with their own place that fitted their needs more than the cities.
Fair enough. And FWIW, many of the older Gamecock fans will tell you they liked the older coliseum for playing the bball games at. The atmosphere was a lot better as it was more packed and the crowd is right on top of the court. Of course, that has more to do with how good we were. I wish that they would try to compact the crowd into the lower bowl to make it a little more intimating atmosphere.

Either way, it does not change the outcome tonight, great game gamecocks.

We were up 6 points with 3 minutes left... we never score the rest of the way ? USC finishes the game on a 7-0 run... That's junior high bad

We had one. And many a Gamecock fans miss it. It's known as the Carolina Coliseum. It was built for basketball and you can tell. Fans are right on top of the court. It may fit 6,000 less than the CLA but it could get just as loud, if not louder (granted the CLA has rarely been loud given how bad our basketball team has been since we built it)

It's pretty obvious the CLA was built to house non-basketball events. Almost built like an NBA venue.

Thats all I was getting at, it was not an attack on USC basketball, Colonial Life Arena, or the city of Columbia. I remember hearing stories about the environment in Carolina Coliseum under McGuire and Fogler. Maybe it would not be an issue if the team had the success it has had in other points in its history. Hind sight is 20/20 maybe in a few years once FM turns things around it will be a non issue.

Either way good game tonight.

Not trying to one up you here, but you just described a fistful of our games this season. We've lost in the last 5 minutes more games than I care to remember.

Sucks because we can't have ncaa tournament games there.
That shite pisses me off so fricking much. If Obama and Oprah can hold a rally in the CLA, we should be able to have fricking NCAA games there. Didn't the SoCon conference move their baseball tourny from Coastal Carolina's park to somewhere in North Carolina for basically the same thing?
