To be fair LSU did not lose a single game in the regular season or post season.

Yeah except they actually did. Twice.

When's the last time LSU went undefeated in real life? 50+ years ago?

You do realize that halfway through the '07 season KY was a top 10 team and the hawgs were actually ranked heading into their season ending bowl game.

It's not like they were some 2-10 teams.

Yeah I remember the media saying Georgia didn't belong in the national title game because they didn't win the East. But of course well all know what happened a few years later.

But then the Rose Bowl went full retard and missed out on a Georgia-USC matchup in favor of tradition. Illinois and Hawaii of course both got slaughtered

They went full retard by not putting aside a 100 year old tradition for Georgia because UGA fans felt entitled?

They're contracted to the Big Ten and Pac. Even if they weren't they'd still try their best to keep that matchup because that tradition brings in the ratings better than UGA would. There's a large portion of the country that looks forward to that matchup. UGA might have more fans than Illinois, but Illinois isn't just having their fans tune in, they're bringing tv's from every Big Ten fan. Replace them with Georgia and those people don't care about the Rose Bowl anymore

UGA lost to South Carolina and Tennessee but beat a Meyer coached Florida and a Saban coached bama and finished #2 behind lsu that year.

Still the most entertaining college football season I can ever remember. Missouri, Kansas, USF were all relevant.

That was the best season ever. It was such a weird season. That UGA team was SCARY good, I think they would've beat LSU if they played them. I don't how we beat Georgia so bad that year

playing the transitive game. We finished ranked fourth and beat arky 38-10 in the cotton bowl.

LSU and AR went to 3 overtimes with Ar winning. The only team that could beat us seemed to be Oklahoma

Yeah, that was an improbable season.LSU was the clear number two after the SEC Championship,

I wouldn't say clear number two because nothing was clear that year but honestly LSU had as much claim to number two as anyone.

It was just a year where everything went goofy. Was a really weird series of events but even though they backed in, they dominated in the big game. Luck is normally a part of championships. You can't blame them that everyone else lost at the end of the season.

The Big 12 Cannibalized itself and the "Mighty" SEC had to slip in the back door.

Real talk.
