You wouldn't laugh if I said LSU is in a position to compete for a championship, yet Arky manhandled that entire team just a few months ago.

Fun fact: Les Miles, Mark Richt, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and pre-South Carolina Steve Spurrier combined have fewer sub-.500 SEC seasons in their 48 seasons as SEC head coaches than Bielema has had in the last two years

Yet Saban, with the most talented team in the land, can only beat Bert by 1 point in Bert's second season of a rebuild (thanks to our FB fumbling the ball, uncaused, through the back of Bama's end zone). And Les, well, lol.

The year before he beat Bert by about 79, so it averages out to about 30 a game

And in Saban's first year they lost to ULM. shite happens during the rebuild process, even to the greatest coach of all time.

Nobody is saying Bert is a sucky coach. People are saying he isn't the best coach.

2-14 isn't "shite happens", it's consistently being ill prepared and underperforming. One bad game against ULM falls under that category, 14 bad games in a 16 game span doesn't. You're comparing apples to oranges

No, it's called being left a shite sandwich. The improvement in 2014 as the year went on was proof enough to me that Bert and staff are great coaches.

But you're too dense to understand this

Like many rantards on here, you are looking at that record in a vacuum instead of its actual context. Thankfully most people who analyze football for a living are able to see the context and where Bert is taking this team. 2-14 over the last two years yet Arkansas is a preseason top 25 team. Weird isn't it?

And yet Saban was left with absolutely nothing at LSU and Alabama along with Meyer inheriting nothing at Florida along with Richt inheriting nothing at Georgia and none of them ever went 0-8 or 2-6. Arkansas' program in 2012 wasn't nearly as bad as LSU in 2000 and Saban didn't even come close to 0-8 in his first season

this might be the best "over-rated" listing of coaches I've seen on this board.

How many more sub .500 conference records before the rant hogs turn their knives on fatty bert? I'm guessing one.

I don't think you understand how bad of a recruiter Petrino was

They are no where near on A&M level anymore. Aggies at least have some degree of conviction when they make these types of threads. Lately Arkansas fans threads have been more like questions instead of statements.

other than saban, there isn't one coach on that list better than les miles. and you even have sumlin above him. he's never beat miles with arguably the best offensive talent in the sec (oh yea, Sherman left the O loaded).
Can't say that I disagree with that. I do really like what Bielema has started to do in Fayetteville, but it is a little early to put him in the top 3 coaches in the SEC.

That's why he brought a top 30 class to fricking Louisville this year right? He wasn't any worse than Zook, DiNardo, or Jim Donnan and he was a hell of a coach on top of that. And he left behind talent that went 11-2 a year before Bielema led them to 3-9. The excuses are getting ridiculous bud
