yeah that's definitely an exaggeration about Cajun Field. I was curious, though, and I found this possible renovation picture from 2011. No idea if this is still a plan for the future but looks pretty nice for a Sun Belt stadium. And btw, no SEC stadium is even close to as bad as Vanderbilt.

Where's the dead guy ashes being spread in that Kick Six photo.

And while we are at it, how do you quote a picture?

Make the quote, then place an image within it.

What a shitty layout. The poor folks on the top rows look like they'll be about 150 yards away from the field. The players on the field will look like ants.

Their plans for expansion are pretty impressive. They'll be nearly doubling their capacity as well as improving several other buildings on campus including their baseball stadium.

I've sat at the top before and it's not nearly as bad as it looks.

Not the best, but the biggest and proud to call it home.

Yeah that stadium is basically built into the ground, pretty much the same way Michigan Stadium is. I always wondered why more stadiums weren't built that way, would seem to be easier to build.

The reason is viewing angles. The Big House is very shallow, so most of the fans aren't very high up, but they're pretty far away from the field. To get a good viewing angle from digging into the stadium, one must either dig very steeply (which can get costly, deep, and dangerous), or have most of the stadium above grade.

The reason LSU has such great viewing angles is how steep it is. You're practically on top of the field.

but when I see PSU & LSU I see a major lower bowl then upper decks added later.

When I see PSU & LSU, I see how PSU's stadium is all erector set, and LSU's Tiger Stadium is all concrete pour. That's one reason why I see Beaver looking more like Kyle. A comparison could also be made to Neyland though...

The first 32 rows of The Swamp are below the surrounding land, it was built into a depression that existed on campus.

Someone photoshopped a UL and Louisiana in the endzones onto a rendering of Jones stadium in Lubbock.

Which goes back to the point about why you don't just dig down--the sightlines in Lubbock aren't very good--they built a ground level stadium which probably had decent sightlines, then pushed back the east stands, and dug down. Cheap, but not a very good plan.

Up until last year so was Kyle. Now 1/2 will be, but it will only be visible for 1 side.
