No team has "command of the game" with a 15 pt lead in the 2nd qt., but Bama seriously had things going their way.

When was the last time a team of Nick's gave up 260 yds. rushing?

I would say the Bama fans here are handling the loss very maturely here on the Rant. Probably not all Bama fans see it that way.

Last night, Ohio St was definitely the better team, but if they played again in a week, not sure the outcome might not be different. That is what makes sporting events so good.

I found it interesting how Meyer used Wiscy's and MSU's victories earlier in the day as motivation for his guys. He said that really planted a seed that they could hang with Bama.

nc14, not a troll, just curious. When you state that bama "does not have playmakers on defense", what exactly happened to all those 4-5 star recruits that Saban has been bringing in the past 3-4-5 yrs? A lot were defensive recruits as I recall. A large part of Saban's rep is that he knows how to coach up good players. That being the case, why are there no playmakers on defense? But, I agree, if a 3rd string QB can lead an offense to that many total yards against ya'll, what the hell do you think would happen when the Duck's offense got cranking against you? They are better, by far in my opinion, than the aubbies, and yet the aubbies put up..what..close to 600 yards on you?

Yeah it would have been ugly for us imho

It would have been a tall hill to climb. The injuries sustained during the Sugar Bowl would have made it just about insurmountable.

These recruiting rankings are shite. OSU goes down to #3 with their QB and he looks like a world beater. 5 straight top recruiting classes says we shouldn't be so affected by injuries, but clearly at key positions the drop off is significant.

Those that have showed up have been quite good about the loss. Very little melting (all in all). Problem is, most (if not all) of the more obnoxious posters are nowhere to be found.

Interesting insight. Good stuff

Certainly they weren't the more talented team. Ohio State was by far the better coached team. That's something that hasn't been said toward Bama in a while.

Two things cost us. One was very poor play by the secondary both in pass coverage and run support. A lot of the run yardage we gave up was on 2 big plays that should never have happened.

But for the second year in a row, Derrick Henry has the hot hand AND WE DON'T GET HIM THE BALL 25 TIMES. The run was there, the pass was not and we kept throwing it.

We certainly weren't in command of the game when C Jones flubbed the opening kickoff and let a live ball lay around in the end zone. A serious all caps WTF!?!?! for sure. The guys just didn't come to play last night. They could have easily slopped into a win last night, but the buckyankees just wanted to be there more than the Tide did last night.

I don't think kiffen called a very good game. Inside zone and stretch were yielding big chunks consistently but he kept trying to throw the ball and called unnecessary stuff. There was No reason why they couldn't have hammered it in when osu had that nightmare punt in the 4th. He's done a good job this year, no doubt, but last night was not his best moment. Easy to say in hindsight though.

Thank you. There's a lot of projecting and a desperate desire for a total Bama melt.

We've been pretty good and can recognize when we just got beat by a better team.

This has been a long time coming. Our defense has been on the decline since 2011, and we've moved away from our power running "make his arse quit" mentality. We're more of a finesse team now, and I don't like it.

Having said all of that, in spite of everything, we won a lot of games and the conference. Not a bad year, and nothing to melt about. Getting beat by a better team stings. But it happens. Props to OSU. They remind me a bit of Bama in '08, at least in desire and physicality.

It is out there my friend, it is just that the best Bama posters are on here this morning. You know the rank and file are missing right now.

Agree, and proof that the playoffs work. BCS game would have been Bama/FSU and the better team wouldn't have won the now less than MNC.

Upvoted. Both teams made plenty of mistakes though. Ohio State left points on the board and spotted Alabama at least one touchdown. No matter how one breaks it, Ohio State deserved to win that game, and they did.
