Similar tier universities and also have a lot of jersey-wearing fans. Good point

I will say that you're not giving Maryland much credit. It's a public ivy school located in one of the wealthiest states in the country. I am sure they have some justifiably arrogant and successful fans

A better comparison for us would be FSU.

Actually Miami from a strictly football program standpoint. But culturally the two schools are as far apart as you can get.

Not as far as you think (unfortunately).

They're recognized as one, so not sure what's so hilarious

South Carolina: Clemson. But shittier. Because they are more alike their in-state rivals than they could possibly imagine.

SCAR and the taterheads are nothing alike. You were doing okay but you tried going for the insult factor with SCAR fans and failed.

SCAR and NC State perhaps ... SCAR and Va Tech in a stretch. SCAR and any number of other comparisons ... but SCAR and the taterheads? lulz No. It's just proof that you don't get it and were trying too hard to insult SCAR fans.

Rivalry Application ... once again, denied.

Now that I look over the full list, it's actually really well done. I think Ole Miss could use a better comparison but that's nitpicking. I also would give SC a worse team than clemson. Clemson is mostly meh but they were a national power in teh early 80s and have had some stretches where they make national noise. Outside of about a 5 year stretch which has happened in the last 5 years, SC hasn't really had anything at all to point to. Every other school seems pretty spot on.

Well done.

Could easily have been the other way around.

Truth. OU fans are fricking unbearable, the worst.

I like Arizona state

Women, lots of OOS students, rebs with better history back in the day but similar results as of late, etc. I think it's closer than Maryland at least

Plus they share their state with another intraleague school, neither of which really register on a national scale when it comes to football.

I like the ASU comparison.

Kentucky has more in common with North Carolina than Kansas.

I just did a google search and they're considered one, and they're ranked high in a lot of majors. Is there something you know that the web says otherwise?

Not really at all. Carolina has a higher ceiling and has been to twice as many bowl games as Kentucky.

You do have a much higher ceiling than Kansas, I agree. But historically and from an overall standpoint, Carolina is a much better brand

South Carolina: Kansas St, a program that was lifted from the cellar dweller status to become a perpetual 10win team under a legendary coach. Unable to support this success longterm after losing HOF guidance

quote:

Auburn:Georgia Tech, programs that historically yoyo from national relevance to the forgotten, crazy coaches running gimmick offenses have them in the national title picture while simultaneously at risk of being laughed at

quote:

Georgia: UCLA. Ton of instate talent, ton of potential and consistently never breaks into the champions club. Made even more painful as opposing teams raid their talent pool to win championships

quote:

LSU: Penn State - Unbelieveable in state talent, historical success and good but not great coaches mask the fact that neither team is on the verge of championships. Both are like North Korea, on your mind but not being taken seriously

quote:

Missouri: Michigan State - Despite recruiting "less" talent, their coaches always do more with less and puts their teams at the top of the conference. Just like MSU is an outsider to the Big 10 traditional powers, Mizzou gets no love despite being SEC runner up consecutively

quote:

Tennessee: Nebraska. Traditional powerhouses that don't have in state recruiting grounds. Neither one seems to be able to compete in the fast pace modern CFB and their fans only wish they could go back to the 90s

How the above obvious connections were not made is absolutely beyond me. OP list is so terrible that it can't even be "trolling"
