No, and I only ranked where I have been and I left off the obvious #1 in Auburn. But based on my experiences this is the order of towns that I would spend a weekend in during the fall.

Probably the best college football tailgating in American takes place each week on college football Saturday’s in “The Grove”

Bourbon Street is a must

Any time someone comes in from out of town and has never been there before, I take them to Bourbon street at dusk so they can say they went. Other than that, it is miserable during Carnival season.

I'll post up at Laffitte's late night, but other than that, it's a bunch of slack jawed hayseeds in from out of town, shelling out $12 for Hurricanes and Hand Grenades.

The article is talking about Bourbon Street, the bar in Athens. Which is probably about as shitty as the real Bourbon Street during Carnival season.

It's awesome but it's not a "college town" which makes it hard to rank on a "best college towns" list.

You can kinda make the argument that the whole Midtown/West End area counts as a 'college town.'

Bar scene is pretty good, but Mo law does make them shut down at 1AM.

When I was in college, that would have dropped a town a dozen spots. Blue laws are awful and inane remnants of a bygone era that should be remembered with disdain if remembered at all.

I'd put Baton Rouge at 10. Lived here all my life, it has always been a dump, especially after '05

Doesn't Nashville have the most colleges per capita in the South (nicknamed the Athens of the South) and second most per capita nationally behind Boston? It's a college city

6. College Station, TX (Texas A&M)

One of the top research institutions in the country, College Station is also one of the most educated cities in America. College Station is aptly named because the town is as linked with its school as any in the SEC. North of campus, you will see some solid night life and a visit to Kyle Field is one of the most pleasurable experiences you can have as a sports fan.

Solid night life? A sheep tied to a tree north of town is not solid night life. At least not to non-Aggies.

I know Starkville doesn't have as much to offer as a lot of towns,

Except Oxford, which is kinda ironic since Oxford is usually at the top of these lists

I don't know about per capita, but Metro Atlanta is known to have the largest concentration in the South

- Georgia Tech
- Emory
- Oglethorpe
- Georgia State
- SCAD Atlanta
- Agnes Scott
- Morehouse
- Clark Atlanta
- Spelman
- Morris Brown
- Kennesaw State
- Clayton State
- Life University
- Brenau

MO laws are rather laid back like: You can drink in a moving vehicle(obvi everyone but driver), you cant get arrested for being drunk in public( my fav), and you can pretty much drink and walk.
