Bama at 6 seems low but I'm happy with it. I'm betting they just didn't want to put another SEC team in the top 5. I hope this pisses the team off and they play with something to prove the rest of the season.

So, now that we see the committee's style, is it clear that scheduling huge OOC games is stupid?
They clearly think 0 loss > 1 loss > 2 loss no matter what at this point.

I think these first rankings look good. I'm happy to see Notre Dame get the shaft they deserve.

It will be interesting how teams move up or down in the coming weeks.
First to test will be the AU OM game.
How far does the loser drop?
What if Florida State struggles, again, against a mediocre team Thursday?

The doomsday scenario...it could happen.

I think if Georgia were to win out and win the SEC, the committee has shown Georgia enough lack of respect, this is how I would see the playoff looking. 1. Florida State 2. Oregon 3. TCU 4. Michigan State These teams are already ranked ahead of Georgia will probably not lose.

No way. If UGA won out and won the SEC Championship game, they would be the first SEC team in
No way they would be left out

I don't know. Everybody picked Mizzou and Arkansas to beat us and we win both 74-32 and now they are both terrible teams. I think perception would become "well the SEC wasn't as good as we thought" if UGA were to win out.

You beat Auburn and Auburn wins all the other games and then you beat msst and it's not even close, Uga would be top seed. By then nobody will remember a late October ranking anyways.
If you beat a 9-3 Auburn or 8-4, that won't help but still win out and win the seccg against undefeated or one loss team it's a no brainer to make top 4.
But now you have to be Auburn fans.

I will be pulling for Auburn in every game but ours for sure.

The committee did a good job, the rankings show h2h matters. I look forward to the rest of the season because Bama is sitting in a damn good spot.
Lots of teams are going to be highly motivated from here on out.
to the top 4 you've earned it up to this point. I hope Bama has "the chest" to compete.

committee is trolling....they know all these teams will play each other......then when a team like Mich State beats Ohio....they will call that a great win and bump them up.....they know bama plays 3 teams in the top 20....at least....they know if bama doesn't run the table...they aren't in anyway......committee did well.....they buy into the sec greatness....knowing that they can move other teams up after the sec starts eliminating its own...starting this weekend with Ole Miss....
THIS x 100 Very well put together, I could see but could not explain it so well

quote:Yeah the rankings work ok now but it's obviously still going to be a PC dog and pony show based on the fact that the 0 loss teams are grouped, the one loss teams are grouped and the 2 loss teams are grouped. Nebraska being ranked ahead of LSU is a joke in a ranking system that is supposedly meant to evaluate merit like the NCAA tourney selection process. LSU has a marquee win and four wins better than Nebraska's best win.

It won't matter. You will be playing either a top 3 Bama, Auburn or MSU, or OM in the sec championship game.
