Thanks for the link
Look at it this way....

Arena (Jim Host and Co)= first line
bondholders (bluehairs and KY teachers pension) = second line
University (UL / CAF) = third line

quote:

LINK

“… before the Mortgagee may solicit or consider any unsolicited offers to purchase the Arena, Tenant will have a period of 90 days after the date on which the Mortgagee acquires title to the Arena to give notice to the Mortgagee that it will purchase the Arena at the price that is sufficient to retire … all then outstanding Arena Bonds …

a) this means the bondholders are first in line
b) they will not be beholden to UL as UL's interest conflicts with their own
c) in default bondholders have the best rights, why do you think people by bonds over stocks in the first place?

This looks like proof positive that the bondholders are in line before UL as I stated before. If you think these debt holders will accept pennies on the dollar before exerting their rights is insane. Look at the financial meltdown in 2008 as shareholders were wiped out but the bondholders got the assets to sell for repayment.

I gave you credit for being educated on sports matters but I called you out on bigger picture issues because your passion does not seem as intense or broad. Again you say I am elitist as tho education and elitism is one in the same. I can assure you it is not. I come from a line of southern dirt farmers who worked damn hard for very little. A person can go to school and major in partying or go to work and learn on their own by reading and learning in their off time. I know a bunch of Louisville rich folks that never worked for a thing and they are dumber than a bag of hammers. Living on trust funds and the party life is the sign of elitist to which you keep insulting me by to by making the statements you do.

You degrade to name calling, bad language, and running away so who is taking the educated approach? Congrats, you just went below a dumb county boy. Either you are dumber or you should ask for your money back from the school you got your degree from.

Cheese Grits, use your head, what else is going on on Saturdays in November? CBS is not going to play a Saturday basketball game in November, Kentucky already gets their season premier the first weekend in December.

I get your point but I am not precluding Fridays and Sundays over tuesdays in the equation. The game with the Terps is friday night so more people will go and up the atmosphere. When SEC football has dead week on Nov 17th why not put UK vs Duke on that saturday to fill slots of the 8 crap SEC games that weekend. SEC games of merit the 17th are :

TBA = Ole Miss vs LSU
TBA = Arkansas vs State
TBA = Tennessee vs Vanderbilt

If not play it that friday night like the terp game. Either way it gets the SEC an extra national spotlight. You know those ACC schools will tune in if they think UK beats Duke. Like Notre Dame in football a large faction of Duke viewers are not Duke fans. Ratings don't care which side you support, only that you tune in and watch.

Friday november 16th
7pm Wake vs Uconn in ACC vs Big East game
or
UK vs Duke would be better than the crummy home games both play that weekend.

Last year UNC played Michigan State on a FRIDAY on a carrier !!!!
What kind of numbers did it generate because I know they advertised it a lot leading up to the game.

I don't know why you keep arguing about this, the Kentucky has no power over the Duke game, it's part of the Champions Classic. Are you going to make the same argument the next time were in Maui playing on a Thursday at 2?

If you just went by Tiger Droppings, you would think that the Kentucky fanbase is the most self hating fanbase in the SEC.

If you have 4 teams they should have some input on how this gets played out. Of the 4, Duke has the worst traveling fans so it really does not matter where they play. The issue for the rank and file is getting the the best games away and the crappy home games on the weekend when yo can go.

If I were the Corporate Sponsor - State Farm in this event - I probably want a weekend date to get the biggest bang for the advertising dollar.

This type of game is different because of location and venue size. These elitist Belle keeps discussing are that market because who can take a week off and capacity is limited to a few thousand fans. If you are playing in a dome you are looking at volumes of folks and not just the private jet set.
