It looks like Mizzou and Texas A&M have shifted the balance of power.

Nice history lesson. Doesn't change the fact that the modern Big 12 is a joke of a conference.

Well, Texas thought things had stabilized when A&M and Missouri recommitted to the conference. Then you both pulled a bitch move and hauled arse with middle fingers extended.

Texas will be fine. Once the Big 12 is no longer of use, Texas will move on. Meanwhile, enjoy your asswhippings in the "greatest conference in the land."

We will enjoy more total tv money in five years time, we are fine. You enjoy a home schedule not worth a shite, and a Thanksgiving game not worth a shite (according to ratings).

We left because y'all lied about how many games were on the LHN. When the contract went public and it was for up to three games instead the one we agreed on for Tier 3 we started packing our bags. The fact that ESPN traded a few Tier 1 slots to help the LHN confirmed our decision. As you imply the Big 12 exists to please Texas. frick that.

Total, utter lie. Nebraska had three (maybe more) PPV games (tantamount to its own network) in 2008. Not a single expletive was uttered.

quote:

It would seem that being relegated to a pay-per-view telecast would be college football's version of playing in Siberia. Less attention compared to national games on the major networks seemingly would make this an unattractive solution.

But excitement about the arrival of new Nebraska coach Bo Pelini is helping to disprove that line of thinking. The Omaha World-Herald reported that Nebraska notched impressive pay-per-view numbers in its first three telecasts, helping the school make more money than if those games had been carried by a national television network.

School officials estimate that Nebraska's first three games have generated more than $1 million in their telecasts produced in cooperation with Fox Sports Network.

This was allowed by majority vote of the Big 12 conference. This was no unilateral decision by the University of Texas.

PPV games are not even CLOSE to a branded single team network that intends to abuse Texas's control of the state's high school football to get the high school championship game on there. PPV was a way to monetize junk inventory, not create a recruiting advantage above all others (that backfired). Every team could do PPV, only one team had ESPN abusing the conference Tier 1 tv deal to subsidize a team network for them.

For a network we agreed on one fricking game, and y'all signed a contract promising y'all would push for three without talking to us. That was the nail in the coffin. Greed killed the Big 12, y'all should have told ESPN "No, we need to talk to the conference first." a Bama would. A USC would. A Ohio St. would. How do I know? Becuase they share the money evenly today. For them money isn't worth problems in the conference. But Texas is too good for that kind of humility act.

And yes the Big 12 voted to allow that shite when we left and Mizzou abstained. It was either that or y'all go independent and everyone was fricked. That isn't a decision, that is coercion.

LOL. Whatever you say.

Oklahoma, Tech, Kansas and Kansas State have formed their own third-tier networks, branded as a school network.

I am positive that Oklahoma, Kansas, West Virginia and Texas each exceeded the $5 million per-team payout from the SEC network with each of their own third-tier deals.

Oklahoma - $5.8 million/year over 10 years

quote:

Tier 3 rights don’t guarantee a massive payout and can vary greatly – West Virginia’s $9 million lands between Kansas’ $6.5 million payout from the Jayhawk Network and the massive $15 million that Texas makes each year from its Longhorn Network

You might know more about A&M's alltime records than me, but this is my wheelhouse. I have talked to people high up at A&M and another Big 12 school about it. I have read the Big 12 GOR or the non-redacted LHN contract many times. I know realignment like you know your boyfriend's butthole, and there is no way to justify the greed of Texas other than "big dicks swing, Aggy."

And yes those teams NOW have a network, because THEY HAVE TO! Otherwise they all fall behind other conferences in money and exposure. Texas won't fold the LHN into a Big 12 Network like would be reasonable considering its a distribution disappointment. Those networks are a better than nothing situation. A Big 12 Network would be better for all, including maybe Texas.

You like quoting sources, here is a good one:

quote:

The Longhorn Network is a boulder in the road. It really is.

That is from the fricking conference commisser. Sounds like he just loves the LHN and all the other peasant networks. You must be right. Texas is the good guy obviously.

Too bad in five years we will make more TV money. SEC Network year 1 or 2 money is just the start.

Let it all out, bruh.

Second to Aggie in the hearts of Texans.
Third in Texas in the XII to TCU and Baylor.

And Mizzou and A&M both on the upswing, getting more national exposure than the Whorns.

I don't blame you for being butthurt over the weak position DeLoss left you in.

Texas will be fine.
But the University athletic program will be average to above average. It takes competition to better yourself. Unless they move to PAC or big ten I don't see that changing.

This pretty well explains why MU is no longer a member of the Big 12.

BTW, congrats on your great season this year-after all, Texas's down years are better than MU's good years, I hear. Ya'll must have kicked arse and taken names the last couple of years. Did you? I must admit I wasn't paying very much attention.

Neither did a lot of people when you consider those ratings on Thanksgiving.
