Gotcha. Makes sense I googled it and what came up was a christian album call "as the palace burns".

Coincidentally it has such gems as:

"In Defense of Our Good Name"

"Ruin"

"Boot Scraper"

and

"A Devil in God's Country"

I wasn't on here when Cam happened. Petrino either. I'm gonna bet that Petrino pic where he's all busted up got used like a $5 dollar hooker.

What else did I miss? The Simmons stuff was pretty good... Wish I was here when A&M and Missouri joined up. That was prob interesting.

Won't you help?

Really? There was an SEC-R in the Garden of Eden? That's the last time getting more than 2 people together on this board wouldn't erupt into a fight.

If anything, ATPB just lowered the bar for what passed for good posting

Perhaps, but it also attracted a bunch of really shitty posters, was stickied on the board to attract more shitty posters and the shitfest we enjoy today is the direct result.

I thought you'd left off to follow some new, obscure, forum that we've probably never heard of.

You can occasionally get a good discussion going when you have some open minded individuals but that doesn't happen very often.
The "Check in Threads" are worthless. Interesting to note how many threads about specific teams that are most always started by someone from another team.

About 1 in 10 threads have any merit, and that might be generous. Also, there are often 3 or more threads started on the same topic.

Of course, I am old, but it appears that most here act as if they are 13 years old.

Don't think it will change as many enjoy always being confrontational or simply trolling.

Give it up. That was a lifetime ago, and no one even cares about ATPB except for AU fans who just can't let it go.

you are right 59. honestly, the younger the posters get the worse it gets. SEC fans used to respect one another, respect the coaches. It's not that way anymore. We have kids posting now that were born in 2000 or even after. They are a different breed and were raised differently. All they know is message board flaming. Back in the day we didn't have communication with each other and it was healthier.

BTW keep those historical stories coming. SEC football was once a great family.

you could actually have a thread where shite was discussed in a semi-serious manner.

Gross. Why the hell would anyone want that?

The truth is that most people on these message boards are flamers because of their own issues. I find it quite easy to ignore the nonsense, enjoy the occasional informative thread, and to present information in discussion. The more secure you are in yourself, the less your online identity or persona matters and the less you take things personally. Everyone on this board could call me names (and they will) and it doesn't change one moment of my happiness, esteem, or disposition, or angst.

The most worshiped online persona and the most despised online persona are equally self-serving and irrelevant to anything that matters.

So, haters can be kings and queens online and in their own minds. Posters can have upteen million posts that represents their wasted time and self-gratifying typographical masturbation. They are just online irrelevant personae. I don't care at all.

Interesting take. Can't really disagree with most of what you said.

If you can accomplish this, I suggest you take your method to the American political scene, especially the presidential nomination process.....they'd write books about you.
