Parts of Arkansas I enjoy:

NW Part
Hot Springs (Oaklawn in the Spring)
Flooded timber of Stuttgart
Crossing the border into Louisiana.

Cured my duck hunting addiction when I moved. Been on many of those during my time in Stuttgart. Mostly hunted between Almyra and Dewitt, around Gillett and then out around Humnoke.

My deer camp was right where Mill Bayou and Bayou Meto met, right below Wheeler Lake. Great area.

What the hell?

ETA: Btw, Stuttgart...I had no idea you moved. You miss duck country?

I do. Great time to be in Stuttgart. Deer and duck seasons are open, Festival begins on Friday. LSU - Arkansas game and then Duck Gumbo on Saturday.

I had a booth a Duck Gumbo for a couple years. Never won but the people we fed who were from Louisiana recognized our gumbo right off the bat. We kept our recipe traditional. Probably why we didn't place. Don't think I could keep pace at that event anymore. My time has passed!

It's really only the eastern part of the state that is flat and people refer to as not being nice. But there are nice areas all over the state, especially in lesser populated areas. Anyone who does a lot of whitewater canoeing, hunting, and/or fishing, etc. in the state knows this.

ETA: Even Pine Bluff has Bayou Bartholomew, which is very scenic and tranquil in areas but also has an rather large population of Cottonmouth Water Moccasins.

In school I <3'd AQ. We stopped in last year, and that place has gone down! My kids thought it was a joke.

Just had to drive through that entire state for work. North, south, east, and west parts of the state. Arkansas is anything but beautiful. It's wide open, dirty, old, and full of nothing. Little Rock is similar to Baton Rouge in feel I would say but other than that, the state sucks.
