1210 AM the Score is reporting that Notre Dame is prepared to go to Tuscaloosa with a blank check. Notre Dame has already contacted Sexton and that Saban is interested in going to South Bend. Anybody heard this? If this is true it would not surprise me one bit.

LINK

quote:

In a somewhat shocking turn of events Coach Nick Saban of the University of Alabama has been contacted by officials from Notre Dame according to an anonymous official.

According to the source Notre Dame is emphatically interested acquiring Coach Saban and will be traveling to Tuscaloosa this week with a blank check.

"Notre Dame has found a coach that has a proven track record of turning once proud programs back into the powerhouses that they were accustomed too."

Alabama will match anything to keep Saban, and I'm not sure Saban would want the move.

We aren't trying to shoot the messenger, its just dumb that these people think Saban is going anywhere but USC. There he can get his beer on, his tan on, his drop top Miata on...

ND could offer 10 mil plus endorsements and other things which are far more cash than what Bama can do. I don't see Saban leaving.

Why would ND want Saban? He hasn't won anything since 2003.

yes, per the conversation we had a few days ago alabama could match any resonable offer ND would make. up to and including ten mill a year.

Well Alabama Slim, like I said... I can't click on the link because my work computer blocks it. I have no way of seeing for myself if it looks legitimate or not.
