don't they have a new QB? that alone may make for a tough year.
but, everyone knows that bad first year results are always blamed on the previous coach and good results are credited to the present guy; that is, except in the case of les miles where saban got credit for everything good.

I dont think you know what "morally" means, just like you didn't know what "misled" meant in the other thread.
Giving smith a shot at a post grad degree at Uga was the morally right thing to do btw.

new QB, new LT, new LBs, new faces in the secondary, new kicker...
No UGA fans expect us to win the SEC this year. But it's impossible not to be excited about the direction we're heading. And LOL at anyone thinking they know what UGA will do in smart's career based off the first season.

So do you think its morally wrong for a coach to recruit a player committed to another school as well?
Is this in Saban's office?

Like most every other team, we have new QBs on campus each year. Like many top teams we have extremely talented new QBs each year. We do however return the starting QB from last years team and it's not clear he's gonna be beaten out, especially during the early part of the season.

I thought players should be able to follow their coaches anywhere. Now its morally wrong

All depends on the situation left by previous coach. I bet saban left a blessed situation.

But athletics director Greg McGarity, after meeting with Smart about the Turman matter, said the school’s “stance” on transfer restrictions had been “adjusted.”
I wanted to set the precedent for the future that kids would not be able to go to Miami right away,” Smart said.....that a kid can’t go there with the coach. That’s important to me that people understand that.”

You are having the hardest time with this and its quite comical
again, you said players should able to follow coaches anywhere and you also are now saying thats morally wrong, so which is it?

So you didnt find any other quotes regarding a differentiation between grads and non grads

Now you are arguing against yourself mattloc:
-You think smith should be stuck at bama but think it's wrong that Uga players arent free.

No I just like rubbing old UGA's fur the wrong way....There is a certain element in the Georgia community that think Richt was mistreated...I agree, but they will have to live with that...karma ... i.e. fulmer

So you don't think that Mo Smith meeting all the requirements of his LOI at Bama by graduating and wanting to pursue his Masters at another institute of higher learning(uh... BTW... an education is the reason student athletes go to school on scholarship per the NCAA's mission statement) is not different from a kid who's a redshirt junior in pursuit of playing time?
You can speculate on Smiths motives (whether it's playing time or wanting a prestigious Masters degree from a top U.S. University), but he fulfilled the LOI he signed with Bama upon graduating. Turman is an underclassman looking for playing time(no speculation, that's what he stated)...
