How did you not start 800 topics when Malik Newman committed? Very unlike you.

Nope, but have some time to kill at work and today has been very slow and boring. Trying to liven things up especially because the GRIND has been weak in the rant for a while.

You might finish second to last ahead of the Aggies...,

What's wrong with him thinking LSU loses at State this year. The game will be in Starkville and LSU still hasn't developed any consistency at QB and the new DC is going to face his first SEC test on the Road vs the top returning QB in the SEC.

State is returning an all SEC 3 year starter at QB as well as 4 of his top 5 receivers from last season. Not sure why all the hate for State and Mullen. I agree the west will be loaded again, but it was last year, and they year before and the year before that and Mullen and State has remained out of the basement this decade.

Been very tied down with work etc. Gonna grind my arse off this basketball season. Ben Howland was a Grand Slam HR hire and hes going to bring in some bigtime talent to Starkville.

Because you guys lost the most, and MSU hasn't ever been that type of program really to be able to reload and be better or about the same, it's a fair pick.
That being said, the last place West team this year wont be bad at all. There is no bad team in the West for next season so any number of teams in the West could end up in 7th, and If I'm a betting man, they wont finish worse than 2-6 in the SEC. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if a few teams tie for 6th or 3-way tie for 5th at 3-5 in the conference.

MSU's defense is good enough to keep the opponents under 40. That's all we need.

Unless you finish #1, who gives a shite where you were ranked in September or October.
That's like saying "I almost banged an OT10. But didn't :( "

You have to experience it to understand.

Who are you, Ms. Cleo? How do you know how any of our QBs will play?

Better than most think
We return a projected 1st round pick at DT Chris Jones, two DT's who played a lot in our 1A/1B defense. Two very good DE's remember this time last year nobody had heard of Preston Smith and he was All SEC and a 2nd round pick. We return Richie and Beniquez Brown at LB both played a ton Richie had 3 picks vs A&M and was SEC defensive player of the week. In the secondary we return Will Redmond (projected 2-3 round pick) and Taveze Calhoun at corner. Safety will be our weakest area but big time recruit Jamal Peters could end up starting and we return Kendrick Market and Kivon Coman who both were played a lot.

That experience of being kinda, sorta close to being worth something, only to come crashing back to reality.
Yeah, that's a real accomplishment

Keep thinking that
Mullen starts seniors but rotates heavily. The seniors are listed on the depth chart as starters even though underclassmen played more. Chris Jones is one example and Fred Ross our 2nd leading WR is another he had over 500 yds receiving but a Sr who only had 200 yds receiving was listed as a starter.

Yeah honestly the West is really up in the air. Our defense probably won't be great...but Diaz > Collins. Should be an interesting year.
