but they are not in the same planet as bama's defense. I'm sorry they just aren't. Bama defense is downright scary. You can move the ball on LSU, they have not so strong points. Bama doesn't.

be fair to the OP, Bama did have success moving the ball against LSU by passing and our receivers while decent are not nearly the threat that Ark are. Our secondary is much better than I thought and LSU while very very good IMO based on the type of receivers we had to cover against LSU is slightly better. Not an insult to LSU but all of your receivers are dirt and second round material ours at best are fourth rd and we did a he'll of a job. The Ark game is more intriguing to me than before. I am not calling a win for Ark but their offense will have more success throwing than we did.

ok so is LSU's offensive line that much better than Bama, or is it Ford that is so much better than Trent? Either that or LSU has the better front seven by a good margin. Considering how much better we heard Trent and his O-line were......

Amusing that piggies were all over this thread in October but are avoiding it post-bump.

Different style of defense. Bama more stout up front. LSU gives up more yardage but holds in the red zone.

This was pretty spot on per the game.

Bama has the best pass D in the nation
Arkansas ranks 32nd and gives up 200 yards per game. Combine that with the fact that Arkansas has one of the worst rush D's in the country and that is a recipe for an arse beating in Death Valley

Does "move the ball" and "number of strong points" show up on the scoreboards now?

LSU is giving up 11 points per game against a much stronger schedule:
(Oregon, Miss.State, Florida, West Virginia, Auburn all ranked when we played them, 3 still are ranked.)

Alabama has played: Arkansas, Florida, Penn State.

Since ancient times, all heroes were warned “all glory is fleeting” and a parade though the streets of Rome, but Caesar commanded that a general in his chariot continuously whispering into his ear “All glory is fleeting”. I have seen this years LSU football team overcome the great season opening game. Against the very dangerous Oregon Ducks, LSU Won 40-27 . After a very bad off campus bar fight, that had the LSU team losing starting QB Jefferson for weeks. Then all the away hard games against Miss State LSU Won 19-6. And at West Virginia Mountaineers, Mountaineer Field, Morgantown, WV. LSU Won 47-21.
Now of course defeating the Alabama Crimson tide in Bryant-Denny, Tuscaloosa Alabama. That our proud tigers also Won 9-6.
I have never felt this way before about any past LSU football team. That I simply trust now that this team will keep fighting all comers until they are the champion. Or until they just can’t fight no more.
God bless LSU.

Good idea. Then Reid can come snatch the ball from the poor soul who thought he had a catch.

Being a huge LSU fan, I still give a slight edge in D to Bama. Bama has the best D in college football and LSU is a close 2nd.

Being an LSU fan doesn't make the statement anymore true than if a Bama fan made that statement.

LSU D has contained multiple heisman contenders in Oregon, WVU and Bama and won the game.
Bama D let an anemic (comparitively) LSU offense score on them and lost the game.

It is no mean task to contain TR to less than 90 yards and worse make him lose yards on a not infrequent basis with one on one tackling. It is an opportunistic defense that doesn't mind giving up passing yards if it can pick up an INT or two.

With the game on the line ,why couldn't they stop LSU in OT? After all LSU managed to sack AJ - surely it is no more difficult task to stop a lesser RB in Ford and sack weaker QBs in JL or JJ?

The everybody is equal is PC crap for debates - this was settled on the field.
As of the 10th week - LSU has the better D than Bama.
