Yeah...we fired him and look how fricked up we became. The man couldn't recruit, but he sure could coach the talent up.

Tubberville recruits and had Eli starting for three years. I like Cut but he drastically lowered our talent level. Eli just masked that his senior year.

His offensive scheme still worked. If he would have used Robert Lane instead of Spurlock in 2004, I believe we would have had a much better season. Lane fit Cutcliffe's scheme better. He didn't deserve to be fired after one losing season in 6 years.

I agree but '05 would have probably been worse than '04. He was going to be gone regardless. And Cutcliffe is a great quarterbacks coach. He would have started Lane if he thought he was the best option.

Damn good hire. Look at this team as compared to Nutt's last two. He's doing it with the garbage Nutt left behind, as well. Once he gets his recruits in under his system, it will show how sound he his.
I agree. I hate the fact that we have yet to play them this season and I'm just a little worried about it. It was so much more comfortable when Nutt was there

I watched a goodly amount of the Ole Miss/A and M game, and thought to myself, "self, this Hugh Freeze guy's offense can do things that the Les Miles offense cannot do. They play very organized, it doesn't look sloppy/thrown together, they play to their strengths".
Time will tell if he was a "good" hire, but he's for sure much better already than I thought he'd be.

Why was this directed at me? I've never said anything of that nature. As a matter of fact, this is probably the first post concerning OM that I've ever even replied to. And you guys wonder why you are disliked.

Freeze is going to be the SEC's Mike Leach. The guy has giant brass balls and is a very good X's and O's coach. He will give every team hell and will start winning in a few years. Unlike Leach, it appears he also cares about defense as well. You guys have a good coach.

Very good hire. He didn't have much talent when he arrived, but he did a very good job of moving people around to give them the best opportunity to succeed. Signing Wallace was big. I like Brunetti, but without Wallace, the offense wouldn't be nearly as successful. Wallace is still making some very bad decisions, but that should improve as he gets more experience against SEC defenses.

Yes. He is doing a fantastic job so far.

One bad decision on a bad snap. He is drastically improving his decision making

Freeze is an upgrade but he made a VERY bad decision on that 4th down call against aTm. He should have gone under center with that play and I read somewhere that same play was used earlier in the game and was stuffed also so the defense probably knew exactly what they were going to do. At least mix it up like run the same formation but a misdirection to the opposite side would have been a better call.

1. Go under center and Run a power play if your going for it. 2. He should have punted it in the first place. The defense had played well up to that point. The turnover on downs completely changed the momentum.

Disagree. I think the bad decision was not lining up under center. He didn't want to give the ball back to Manziel because they had already gotten their momentum going. I think if we had punted they still would have scored.

I don't truly think you will know until year 2. However, the potential is there.
