Conference bias with the Nebraska thing. The Big 10 is a "powerhouse" basketball league.

Conference RPI rank, Big10 2nd, SEC 7th.

If Tennessee loses on Friday, I still think they are in, most likely as an 11 seed play in.

Mt. St. Mary's about to grab an automatic bid in the NEC final. 9 to play and 16 pt lead. Robert Morris would be 21-13 and 14-2 in conference. They got rolled by almost 40 by Kentucky, nearly 30 by Okie St. Lost @ Bama, and Delaware stomped em by 20.

I don't think Robert Morris is any threat to knock a bubble team out.

You're right, they will probably go to the NIT again.

UW-Milwaukee just won the Horizon tournament and I don't think Green Bay will get an at large. Still looking good. Need Gonzaga to beat BYU tonight.

No 1. seeds to lose in conference Tourney (NIT auto qualifiers)

Vermont - American East
Atlantic Sun- Florida Gulf Coast
Big South - High Point
Horizon - Green Bay
MAAC - Iona
NEC - Robert Morris
OVC - Belmont
Southern - Davidson

8 bids stolen from the NIT, so far... so NIT hopefuls like LSU and Mizzou have to be getting nervous as only one one bid league has not stolen an NIT bid in the process (Ivy league regular season champ goes to tourney, no conference tourney played).

In the tourney:

Harvard - Ivy
Eastern Kentucky - OVC
Coastal Carolina - Big South
Mercer - Atlantic Sun
Wichita St. - MVC
Delaware - CAA
Manhattan - MAAC
Wofford - Southern
Mount St. Mary's - NEC
Milwaukee - Horizon

BTW: BYU is getting blown out by Gonzaga (who Arkansas lost to by single digits on a neutral court), meaning BYU could be playing their way out and both Arkansas and Tennessee into the tourney right now...

Probably, but a 20 point loss the last game before selection sunday to a 9 seed doesn't help you get in...

Yup, I'm with ya there. If BYU can make it a 5 pt loss or less they're likely still in. If Gonzaga can stretch this back to 20 pts, They're likely the first chicken neck on the cutting block.

NDSU wins the Summit League bid.

IPFW likely to the CIT, (24-10, 10-4), could sneak into the NIT I suppose.

Top 35 RPI and their non-conference SOS was #7. Committee almost always rewards teams who go out and play people.

One of their best players also got injured tonight though. The committee will take that into consideration too.
