I don't know about Arky, but Tenn has a win against UVA and that's it. They've scheduled well, but blew every chance for a resume building win down the stretch. If Tennessee doesn't make it to Saturday, I wouldn't be surprised at all to be in the NIT. Trust me, I've gone through this shite 2 years in a row before this season.

Xavier is a pretty good win for the Vols but they traded games. Just looking at Tennessee's schedule and I see your point. That Virginia win really jumps out though.

Conference bias with the Nebraska thing. The Big 10 is a "powerhouse" basketball league.

"How do you keep UGA out"

The same way Alabama went 12-4 in conference games and was a win over Florida away from winning the SEC regular season a few years ago. That Bama team's last 2 wins came over a Georgia team that got into the tourney instead of Alabama. The only rational reason for Alabama being left out that year was due to a poor non conference record which is Georgia's problem this year.

Nebraska didn't steal our spot, but it would have been nice if they lost. If that makes sense.

A BYU loss on this ESPN2 game would be nice. They're a projected 12 seed and aren't "safe" quite yet.

I watched that Wisconsin/Nebraska game and the Huskers play on pure emotion. Exact opposite of Wisconsin. If that game was on a neutral court I would pick Wisconsin 8 out of 10 times.

Nebraska won because of that crowd, plain and simple.

That's what I meant basically. They didn't steal our spot, they just made it harder for us to get one. At this point, I'm pulling for every non-SEC bubble team to lose. On the bright side, at least it makes watching BYU, St. Joe's, etc.. games interesting.

I still don't think Nebraska is as safe as some are acting. They had a big win on TV but it was just one home game. If they lose their first game in the Big 10 tournament they may be on the outside looking in. Their record isn't very good at all.

I agree Stonehog. It's just the conference bias and "hype" that I'm concerned about with them. I mean, Florida is #1 and how often did we really hear about them on TV this year? If Florida were in the Big 10 or ACC, the ESPN desk jockeys would be all about the dickriding. Just the way it is with basketball. It's like reverse discrimination of SEC Football.

After perusing Nebraska's resume they have a lot of good wins. I may have been undervaluing them just a tad.

Hopefully Tennessee doesn't get in.

This win will not do anything for you. Many Tennessee fans bought in to this same thing last year when we were the 5 seed and right on the bubble.

"It's an advantage to get an extra win on Thursday instead of getting a bye."

The reality is it's just a chance for a slip up. Beating RPI 150 teams in the round of 12 is not going to move the needle at all.

We don't want the needle to move, that's the point. If we win, we're in. A loss to Tennessee isn't going to keep us out with our resume. And a loss to Arkansas wouldn't keep Tennessee out.

I don't know why you're speaking in absolutes. Tennessee's resume was definitely good enough to get in last year and we didn't. We were the 2 seed in the SEC 2 years ago and a top 25 team after Stokes joined the team and we were left out.

Both years the committee took teams over us that manipulated their SOS OOC by not scheduling 200+ teams. That's something Arkansas could be hurt by when compared to other bubble teams.

I think it could go either way unless you guys beat Florida.

Maybe wishful thinking, but I disagree. Even though Tennessee did a good job manipulating the numbers, there is no way you can say this for sure. I could definitely see us getting left out, even with a win over Arkansas. We would still lack top 50 wins. The season was a huge disappointment no matter how you slice it. No reason we shouldn't have won 13-14 in SEC play. Unless we somehow beat Florida, I think it would be better for us to miss the tourney and start over.

A lot of teams you listed aren't on the bubble. Ole Miss, LSU, and Georgia have no at large chances. SMU, Oklahoma St, Baylor, Pitt, and probably Colorado are locks and aren't on the bubble.

Your resume wasn't good enough last year and you lost in the first round of the NIT, so it looks like the committee got it right.

LOL at this line of thinking. Because a team would rather go on spring break than play in 3/4 empty gyms across America, that means the committee got it right?

No way an MTSU team with 1 top 100 win and a 120+ SOS deserved an at large bid.
