Sweet. This will be my excuse if Alabama loses the Iron Bowl. Saban already had a foot out the door / was distracted.

Yea, Saban wouldn't want that $600m.

Isn't it funny how these rumors always start before big games... Iron bowl this weekend. I bet the ajc continues these rumors on through the SEC champ game (ajc pulling for UGA) and the playoff to distract the players, if Bama wins out.

The AJC just ran a piece today that proclaimed Tech as having a better season than UGA. They have absolutely no loyalty to UGA over Bama. They are oyal to page hits and page hits alone.

Carvell 100% has loyalties to UGA and getting after Auburn and Alabama.

Maybe not Bradley and Schultz, they are just after page clicks, but Carvell is as in the bag as it gets. Total disgrace.

Holy shite, you have no idea what you're saying here. Carvell has been the bane of UGA fans' existence for years, so much so that posting one of his articles or tweets on any UGA message board is tantamount to posting Bleacher Report. Maybe he has become more pro-UGA over the past year or so but I honestly couldn't tell you; I, like many UGA fans, have completely stopped reading anything he writes. He was that slanted or inflammatory about UGA.

I should have phrased that better. He is clearly 100% against Alabama and Auburn. His "pro-whoever" pieces/tweets/interviews I rarely hear, though generally they are about UGA. I obviously don't remember pieces that are negative about UGA or Tech or others.

He is miserable about Saban/Alabama/Auburn, though. I guess he is that way about others as well.

And this is from someone who pretty much never plays the "he hates my team card" about journalists.

Anyone else heard that the Falcons have asked to talk to Saban?

So Petrino leaves Atlanta for Arkansas.

But Saban's going to leave Alabama for them?

In the NFL you do not have 25 first round picks every year.

Personnel decisions have to almost be perfect to compete at a high level.

Saban tried the NFL, and he recognized that college football sets up better for his strengths- recruiting and teaching.

He is a great college football coach.

Atlanta could be a nice lure for him, QB already in place you can win with. His talent evaluation will have to get better.

He could stop tormenting my LSU Tigers and switch to messing with my Saints!

Blank will have to pay all his bills and I'm sure Bama will offer up stadium naming rights to Saban to keep him.

Pete Carroll written all over it.
Failed first time in NFL.
Wants one more shot at ultimate prize to cement coaching legacy - Super Bowl title!
Already accomplished everything in college.
NCAA probation for Bama when he leaves

I wouldn't be surprised, but for only one reason.

He's got to be sick and tired of having to sit down and eat a meal every time he goes on a recruiting home visit.
