I think 2008 and 2014 disproves this notion.

Whatever. He is #1 or #1A in his field of CFB HBCs.

Absolutely. No doubt or disagreement from me.

I am just pointing out the stupidity of trying to call him a potentially great NFL coach.

Why can't people just let the truth speak for itself?

He sucks when playing level competition on a week to week basis.

Good thing for him that college football existed in its present format while he was in his prime. That does not diminish anything he has accomplished.

But idiots have to write crap like "saben would win the super bowl or saben would cure cancer and balance the national budget".

Thank you for the link. I now feel in my heart that saban is going to come back to LSU. Just because Saban doesn't think he is coming back to Baton Rouge today doesn't mean he can change his mind tomorrow. Just like I believe that Jesus is returning to this earth I believe Saban is returning to baton rouge

Kind of like when he beat LSU and Mississippi State in back-to-back weeks, as well as Auburn and Missouri in back-to-back weeks this past season?

LOL, he sucks at it? Jeebus. Who exactly doesn't "suck" at it, whatever your definition of level competition and being good at it is?

Probably if you read the headline . . . but written by Scabs, so I didn't read.

I personally think Saban is better than that NE coach. Saban has had to make more changes, to keep up with the college game. No so much on the Pro side.

I remember when Coach Saban moved on to coach the Dolphins, I would tell everyone that within four years he would have Miami in the Super Bowl. I was certain it would happen based upon his abilities he showed at LSU.

I still think that he would have had Miami playing in the Super Bowl if he had stayed in the NFL.

I think that Saban's NFL journey ended as a bit of an incomplete. I mean, he went 15-17 in 2 seasons. People talk about him like he was an absolute failure (see Steve Spurrier, 12-20). He wasn't great, but he wasn't miserable. There have been lots and lots of NFL coaches who have had a worse first 2 seasons than Saban, and a lot of them are still getting jobs in the NFL.

I wouldn't necessarily say that he would win a Super Bowl, but I'm not looking for page views like Scarbo is.

Saban couldn't get the respect of NFL players. His schtik doesn't work at the pro level.
