Couldn't Alabama just award him a couple of Lombardis?

He's only been in one playoff game. Making fun of him for losing the first ever playoff game is like making fun of Gus for losing his 1st ever national championship as a HC.

It's very difficult to win in the NFL. To suggest Saban would be a guaranteed super bowl winning head coach is laughable

Nick Saban would've been 6'5" had he not quit growing @ 5'2". That is the stupidest article Kevin Scarbinsky has ever written, and that is saying a lot.

Yeah, not tall like Vince Lombardi.

He was in the NFL for a few years and never won a playoff game there either.

He has not shown the ability to win consecutive games against excellent teams. He can win ONE game against a good team and then take a few weeks off and win another. But back to back to back? Nope.

That is why everyone outside the state of alabama knows that Pete Carroll is a GREAT coach. He can win at every level.

Saban also has never won a playoff game as a college coach

If his team was given 5 or 6 first round picks for several years, he probably would. He seems to need far superior talent to win.

Yea, he went 10-2, won the West and finished in the Top 10 in 2008 with a team full of 5-stars.

Won the national title in 2009 with only 1-top 10 recruiting class (who were all true freshmen) on the roster.

No, he still would have been the shameful, gutless, cowardly disgrace that he was....HE turned down Brees for Culpepper. There was no, nor would there have been a "had the Dolphins signed Brees" scenario; because to Saban, Brees was damaged goods. The Dolphins didn't make that brilliant move, the almighty saban did. And he ended up notifying his coaches that he was quitting on the INTERCOM for Chrissake. What a bastion of integrity, honesty and resolve....

"I am not going to be the Alabama coach."

LINK

Whatever.

He is #1 or #1A in his field of CFB HBCs.
