Nick Saban would've been a Super Bowl Coach too, had he stayed in Miami

The more you watch Belichick and Carroll succeed, the more you have to wonder what might have been with Saban.

Check that. You don't have to wonder. Had the Dolphins signed Brees at quarterback, had Saban stayed in Miami, is there any doubt he would have built that organization into one of the NFL's best?

Forget anyone short-sighted enough to suggest Saban failed in the NFL. Please. He didn't stick around long enough to finish the test.

You know it would be interesting to see what he and Lane could do with Atlanta.

Could one even imagine the melt a victory over the Saint's this would create?

nick saben has never won a playoff game.

But THERE IS NO DOUBT that he would have been a force in the nfl?

Too funny.

He wouldn't have won a Super Bowl because he wants control over his personnel. It takes a great gameday coach to win in the NFL, which Saban isn't. His coaching ability is in his recruiting and control over the program, which is not his job as an NFL coach.

Maybe if they had brought Brees in to be the qb like he supposedly wanted them too.

1) he said that because Louisiana residents melt like no other and

2) right now even a combo of Payton/Brees can't beat the worst Falcons team in recent memory so I don't see Saban changing that

This article is total bullshite. Why even write it?

Saban was miserable in the NFL because he didn't have as much control over his players as he would have liked. Saban preaches the systemic approach, the modern NFL empowers individualism. Saban is not a "players' coach."

The truth is that Saban wasn't THAT bad as an NFL coach. He MIGHT have been able to pull it together like Belichick did. But we will never know because the NFL made him quit. And that's why this article doesn't wash. It fails to take into account that Saban quit out of frustration. Instead, it's just another writer's fantasy where Saban hires Brees and everything works out wonderfully.

This is the same sort of fantasy that LSU fans have, where Saban never leaves LSU and we never lose another game, ever.

It's a waste of time because Saban is where he should be now, and he's apparently happy there, now. So why does everyone think he would have been happier or better off somewhere else? Saban doesn't want a Super Bowl trophy. If he did, he would be in the NFL, taking his lumps like Carroll and Belichick.
