Are you sure that you're not mixing up Nick's comments with Gus's? That sure sounds a little Auburnesque.

UA is the most successful college football program of the modern era. IDGAS who else roots for Alabama. I do, however, care about how the player face of the program represents my university. What about you?

There is no Auburn fan who is happy about NM getting caught with a small amount of weed and receiving a citation. However, to pretend any of these guys are model citizens is crazy. Football players drink under age, smoke weed, drive under the influence all the time. NM's crime appeared to be making the mistake of driving a vehicle that fit certain stereo types and got pulled over with a little weed.
In another 10 years it will have the shock affect of a player wearing a bunch of tattoos today. Remember when having tattoos meant you were a roque athlete out of control. Circa Dennis Rodman.

Good to know. I like that Nick Marshall is the face of Auburn University. Couldn't ask for a better representative of Auburn.

Don't worry. That will happen the first time a major SEC program gets left out of the playoffs because whoever they were compared to played more conference games.

IMO anything the coaches and programs can do to advance the lives of these young men is a good thing. They're gonna screw up - kids/young adults screw up. But what kind of life and what kind of citizens would they be if they had never been given the structure and discipline of being a part of a football program?

Tattoos were never illegal. Smoking weed is illegal at this time. Whether or not you agree with the law, the law is put in place for citizens to obey. By not obeying he showed a lack of respect for authority and deserves the criticism that is directed his way. As the player face of the program, he is going to be held to a higher standard than the rest of the team. I am just thankful that the face of my program isn't associated with stealing and drugs.

I was not giving someone a pass for breaking the law, but you moral indignation is laughable. When you speed in your automobile you are breaking the law. Everyday! All the time! The law recognizes the reality of speeding verses say…a DUI and you don't go to jail for the night when you speed. Unless you speed to the point of reckless endangerment. The law is saying the same thing about small amounts of personal use weed.
Do you every drive over the speed limit? Does Jacob Coker?
I only listed tattoos for those old enough to remember. There was a time when the social stigma was much worse than today. It meant certain things and would be embarrassing for the face of a program to be "tatted up". Not because I believe them to be illegal.

It is as if none of the posters on the rant have ever been around a college football team. For every offense that is made public thankfully many go unknown in the public eye.

This is the route I've taken up recently. It's a pretty good way to go about things.

Solid response. Your personal attack when I have not mentioned anything about your life tells me that I've gotten under your skin.
Enjoy the rest of your day
