He's perfectly OK when Bama was the standard.

Alabama is still the standard in recruiting just like before NIL.

Of course he is. He's trying to get it all back, somehow, to where he can show a better benefits package. If every ball player makes X dollars a month, its no different than every ball player making zero dollars a month.

And then Nick can go back to selling the pathway to the pros, better other benefits, blah blah blah. This is so obvious it really kinda' irks me that some people fall for it.

Of course Saint Nick wants the ball-players to Unionize. Because he's not built to negotiate with 85 different consumers. That's not the message Nick sells.

He’s right. The players should unionize

The stupidity coming out of Saban’s mouth, and people agreeing with him, is simply astounding.

Student-Athletes are NOT employees of the university. They are Students! How do you unionize when there are no employees to form a union?????

NIL will, ultimately, be the ruination of college football. All the supposed adults in the room, Saban, Sankey, etc, have no clue on how to manage it. The fact they want congress involved shows how utterly ignorant and confused everyone is on this topic.

I'm saying that the athletes should be employees of their university like how I was an employee of my university when going to school. I had skills and they paid me to do IT work.

The concept of athletic amateurism flies in the face of realities that exist in academia for every other student besides athletes.

Of course he has no problems with players getting paid. He never has. And he’s donating money right now for SEC Players Union Headquarters in Birmingham.

What the new, more professionalized version of college football really needs is a draft, salary cap and restricted free agency, just like all the other pro sports. That'll bring more parity to the sport.

I think it would be great. The same handful of teams wouldn't get the pick of the litter every single year. Sky high recruiting budgets would be redirected to nationwide scouting. The ridiculous facility arms race would end, too.

It’s too predictable now and has been for awhile. When you have maybe the same 3 teams who you know one of them will win it all it gets boring at the end of the year.

I enjoy the regular season though.

Maybe the extended playoffs will produce some upsets and make the postseason more interesting.

People are going to stroke out because Saban said it but it’s 100% best path to sustain this sport we all love.
