I am not a college football fan and considering this post and its contents came from you it means absolutely nothing.

I agree that he may not be the best game planner but he is the best recruiter. The only coach in the SEC in his time that could even come close to his results is Urban Meyer and maybe Spurrier if he still had the fire. Some of the newer head coaches could be good but we don't know yet.

His game planning may be the most detail oriented. There's a reason he's hired the support staff that he has. Sark isn't there to dry out and be Freshwater's wing man. He develops talent as well as anyone in the country. Players being maxed it was a knock on our players for a couple of years. And considering he's supposedly such an a-hole, how does he recruited so much better than anyone else in decades?

I give Saban credit for the 2007 NC as well.

I hate to use my team as the point here but if this were true then Miles would still be at LSU. We were on par with one another for a while as far as talent goes.

Nick Saban is an above average coach, at best, who has learned how to surround himself with the best recruiters money can buy. Trade any coach in the SEC for the past 10 years at Bama and they would have a similar record.
You're wasting your breath. Bama fans don't count Saban's record pre-bama (except for the LSU NC) or his first year at Bama against Saban's ability to coach. Tubberville would have a field day with the players on Bama's pay roll.

Then why didn't he recruit this much talent at Auburn? Probably because he is far below Saban's level.

no one counts a coach's first year ... 2nd year? ... tubbs went 9-3 in the regular season, but maybe he didn't have the recruits ... not bad ... 1st year he did get shut out by ut, 24-0, and lost to arky 24-10 ...lost by 21 and 31 to uf his 2nd year and avg 5 losses a year for the next 4 ...

saban went 12-0 in the regular season his 2nd year .. with shula's recruits ... biggest loss his 1st year was by 7 ... lost to uf by 11 and utah by 14 his last two games in the 2nd year ...

but yeah, tubbs was a better coach ...

First, 80 of our players aren't 4 or 5 stars. Where did u get this info because somebody is way off.

Second, since he's got his program established its basically took acts of God to beat him. Balls bouncing off helmets, fgs returned, a kicker missing 5 got dam fgs, a ball knocked out of Mark Ingram hands only to roll 25 fkn yards along the sideline through the end zone? No fumble rolls 25 fkn yds.

I don't. But it's hard to give credit to Miles. The fact is LSU probably had the best team that year, but got really lucky. Miles pretty much "Miles'd" that season up. How in the hell can your team be ranked #1 and lose to Kentucky?
I know one thing if Saban is there in 2007, LSU is undefeated. Most likely in 2006 also.

The most red down arrows I've seen on a post on here is just indication of how unpopular Masterag's opinion is.

The same reason no one else does. They have to follow ncaa rules. If Saban was the GOAT he would have shown it everywhere he has been and not just when he has the most talent. He also wouldn't lose games to teams like ULM and Ole Miss with less talent. I don't know many coaches that would lose will a free pass and boosters buying any player they want.

It's really pathetic what a once proud program like auburn has turned into.

It's getting dangerously close to LSU level pathetic.

And that's just sad..........

The best recruiters was ESPN who touted sabins LSU championship with Coach Denardo's four top five recruiting classes ,but Coach Denardo himself got no love for it, ,one of them was probably actually number one and over cedited his nfl championship ring as belechek's employee ! With this comglomerate of circumstances it would have been hard for him not to win some titles none of them his fault !
