Agree..

I don't want to break another QB on the road again. NM will be fine.

But, no reason not to use JJ alot now in certain situations.

But how effective will Marshall be with a partially torn patellar tendon? If he can't be effective running the ball, it might not be nick's team for very long.

We don't know how hurt he is and unless I have missed it, no coach has stated how bad he was hurt

If he is not ready, we see JJ. But if Gus thinks he is healthy enough, I believes we play Nick. More experience is a big deal.

I don't think the degree to which Marshall is hurt has been released. He was still limping noticeably on the sideline on Saturday, though. Can't imagine he's even close to 100 percent.

Hope he's good enough to play, but it was a good thing we got Johnson some reps (especially throwing) against WCU.

To me he doesn't look comfortable running at all.

It was his first game in college football. I will wait to judge his running ability after I see a few more myself.

Isn't he about 6'5?

6'6" 220lb. true freshman. He made one good long throw. Perfect on the money TD pass. Under threw his first long pass. It's hard to compare him because we have only seen him against WCU, who is horrible!!!!!!!

I saw him play twice last year on t.v.. He makes every throw imaginable, in the pocket, on the roll, showed nice touch and can put heat on it when needed. We signed a very solid class this year. Some true freshman have already been major contributors. JJ was the kid I was most excited that we signed. He still needs seasoning, but I think he will get the chance to learn more, during game play, as the season goes along. Gus isn't stupid. He didn't burn JJ's redshirt to beat WCU.

Possibly. But he looked fine to me Saturday. I watched him warm up and didn't notice the limp. But I agree, we don't know how how knee is doing.

He made a pretty good 50-55 yard pass

So he is a new breed? No comparisons huh. I'm intrigued.

Yes, he is new breed of QBs capable of throwing 50-55 yard passes.

The game is about to be revolutionized

he wasn't limping at all and had pads on which means he could've played if we really needed him.

He made a lot of different throws. I was impressed with his accuracy on so many different throws. He looked confident but our offensive line never let anyone close to him.

He needs more time and we have a chance at this point for a very good season. It's not the time to throw him in there as the starter unless Marshall can't go

Just telling you what I saw. Go watch the replay -after Johnson had that nice TD bomb, he's sitting on the bench talking with teammates, and Marshall limps away after giving him a pat on the shoulder.

I was at the game. I saw him in warmups and on the sideline.

I was at the game, too. I was just giving you a spot on the replay where you could see it for yourself.

He can definitely play. A partial tear isn't a deal-killer. But if he can't run effectively, then we might be in trouble.

To be fair, AU was pretty much playing backyard football, and he did grossly under-throw 1 or 2 when his feet weren't set (true freshman mechanics at times). It's still nice to see a backup with a high ceiling though. AU hasn't been able to say that in a long while.
