Auburn has always been known to have questionable character guys on their team, ie Fairley, Cam, etc.

Everyone who lives in this state knows that Alabama is the more classy university that takes pride in teaching its students morals and how to become a better person.

So by that rule you have to "Agree to receive" or "Receive" the money to be in eligible.

Auburn successfully argued that Newton never had a verbal or written agreement with Rogers or Cecil Newton to act as his agent, wasn't aware of the pay-for-play scheme and received no benefit from Rogers. Nor did Newton hire or compensate Rogers to serve as an agent or athletics scholarship agent, Auburn argued.

This comes from documents released after the investigation. But don't let the facts get in the way of your argument.

Don't forget the Auburn Creed. Which applies to every Auburn man except when it comes to football.

AU uses Newton, IN A CLASSROOM, in the commercials they run at halftime of games. Think about that. The commercial is supposed to sell their university as an academic institution and their idea of a model student to show the world is a dude who was kicked out of another university for stealing and cheating as well as having his father act as his agent. That is their model they present to the world. It's hilarious.

Fairley was dirty and that's why I loved him. I want all of my d linemen to be as mean as he was. The late hit on Murray was over the top but anything else he did was par for the course if you actually played football before.

Yeah, hate to show a guy that has no "need" to finish his degree, going back to school and graduating. That's just horrible.

That literally says Newton or his family member cannot "receive" or "agree to receive".

Neither of those happened.

Apparently reading comprehension is hard for some people.

A story of second chances. A story of a millionaire who still values education.

Disney could not have done it better.

This thread is amazing. 3 and a half years since the 2010 team took the field last and they still get a reaction from opposing fans. I love it.
As fun as 2013 was, 2010 is the gift that just keeps giving the butthurt. I mean, this thread is about Nick Fairley and Aaron Murray and StopRobot is over here talking about Cam Newton and how the NCAA conspired to protect his eligibility

Thank y'all for starting my day off with a smile

I know this may shock the sec brethren in the audience, but I will still say it.

When I look at the banners and trophies in Auburn, the SECC game banners in Atlanta, and the tshirts and memorabilia I have from my trip to Arizona for our 2010 SEC and Natty titles.........

I never think about the Cam scandal.
I never think about Nick Fairley's aggressive play.

I never think about anything other that these two things:

1. Auburn won it all on the field.
2. uga and bammer cant stop crying about it. (and that is when I cant stop laughing).

We can see it in your posts about "class". We can see it on your faces when we run into you on the street. It eats at your soul and will bother you until the end of time. uga and bammer are in the dictionary next to the word "melt".

Fittingly, the endings of the two rivalry games last year just pours more salt into those open wounds that will never heal. They will never heal. Beating us 49-0 when we suck still does not help the healing for more than a few weeks. It still hurts and burns daily.

I love it.

Now do you see why Bama fans love it when Auburn fans still complain about Bear Bryant?

Is Nick Fairley A Dirty Player?
Posted by Buck Belue (former UGA QB)

Football is a tough, physical, and emotional game. Mean dudes play it. As a guy that holds the ball, you've got to expect some hard hits. It's the nature of the game. Do these mean dudes cross the line sometimes? You bet they do.

But I don't look at Auburn DT Nick Fairley as a cheap shot artist. Maybe it's because I played with Eddie "Meat Cleaver" Weaver. The QB with the ball in his hands is fair game. Beware. I'm sure Aaron Murray understood that coming into the game. Fairley had a bad rep for abusing QBs.

Just went back and looked at the 4 hits he took at Aaron. The Facemask incident: shows Fairley is mean. The Spearing incident: this was a cheap shot...Murray had already released the ball and that was clear to Fairley. The Pick-Up & Dump incident: it's illegal in the NFL, but legal in CF. The Knee Shot incident: Fairley was coming in low with his pass rush, and was getting pushed by the Georgia OL. Could he have pulled up? Don't believe so. How is a 300 pound beast a foot off the ground going to stop? Now if he was coming in high, and then went down low that would be an entirely different story.

Did I appreciate the Georgia OL going after Fairley on the next play? Yes, I loved it. Absolutely loved it. Just wish they would have protected him more prior to that.

Fairley would be a rock star in Georgia, if he played for the 'Dogs. But he plays for Auburn. So, we hate on him. I get it. Does he take no prisoners, with his nasty style? That's correct. Is he dirty? Probably could argue that one.

Actually this thread is about Aaron Murray, with Fairley being the punchline.
