TSIO is streaky, always has been.
There have been a lot of streaks in the series. Hard to believe that Tennessee got to within 5 games in the series before Saban. Spread is a healthy 13 games now after 8 straight.

The only reason it was ever a rivalry in the first place was because those two programs were the class of the SEC and played every year. Tennessee is going to need to make some serious strides before anyone outside Knoxville or Tuscaloosa will care about that game anymore.
The beauty of it, is that we don't care how anyone else feels about the TSIO. We the historical [and in UAs case current] face of the conference. We will always play each other no matter how much bickering it elicts from the other member teams. TSIO 4 LYFE

Until recently, when Navy started their tremendous run and Army football dropped off the face of the planet, I'd put Army-Navy as the best rivalry in college football over the decades.
That having been said, I don't think any rivalry right now has as much of an impact on the national title picture as Bama-Auburn. Most years one of the teams is looking to play spoiler and some years both teams are legitimately in the hunt.
Bama-LSU also usually has national implications, but it doesn't have the drama of an end of the season game. Plus you still have a chance to climb back out of the hole if you lose that game. A big loss at the end of the season and you are hosed.
It has become a must see game.

Arizona-Arizona St. being on there over any of the 3 UGA games is absolutely absurd.

I just don't see how a rivalry between 2 schools who don't put a priority on football, who haven't been nationally relevant since the 50s, neither of which will compete for any significant hardware, and who the rest of the country doesn't GAS about other than 1 day can be so widely acclaimed as #1.

most opf your younger fans couldn't care less about that game anymore if we're being completely honest. the sole reason it ever was a rivalry has gone by the wayside. and unless things drastically change, that rivalry will too. lsu tulane was a big rivalry once upon a time too.

lol at how close these are
LSU/Bama would be higher had we taken 1 or 2 of the last 4

I'll be honest . If I werent a vil, I would never guess ut and Bama were rivals. We are never good at the same time and I would not lose a wink of sleep if we dropped the game.

Army Navy should be 1

why?
Because beating one another is bigger than winning the National Championship.

I'm quite certain there are some NAIA rivalries where the only thing on each team's mind 24/7 is beating the other and nothing else matters. The "we want to beat them real bad" factor isn't the end all be all of a rivalry. It has to have SOME significance to others.

Surprised they didn't go with Oregon-Washington. Even though the Ducks have dominated, that is a pretty fierce rivalry.

Army/Navy is great and the fact that AU/UGA isnt listed is ridiculous

Don't both teams have to win occasionally in order for this to be a rivalry?
Bama leads the series 6-4 in their last 10 meetings with LSU
LSU leads the series 8-7 in their last 15 meetings
The series is tied 10-10 in the last 20 meetings.
Seems pretty even to me as of the past 20 years

nfl.com is stupid as shite for not listing any of UGA's big 3 rivalries on there.
Agreed

UGA-Florida should be on here, IMO.

Army/Navy is a complete bore. The only reason those two teams were even relevant in the first place in their history is because half of college football during WWII was drafted and the military teams had all the best and most conditioned players available. They've barely been heard of since then I've never watched one game in its entirety.
But yes, iron bowl is #1 and it's not even close. At all.

Than shouldn't the AFA, who has the most Commander-in-Chief Cups get a mention? It's a relic of a game, like Harvard-Yale. It's still good, and traditions like it matter, but if you want to put them that high, then you should also look at Lehigh-Laffayette too. Just another game that has no impact, and is shoved down our throats.
