Comments he apologized for, and comments to his credit that didn't compare other people or a rivalry to various wars.
We are talking about an AU official describing at length the rivalry as a war, fighting for each inch, and saying that AU was going after children. In no way was Saban's off the cuff comparison and this pointed diatribe similar.
Auburn fans are quick to deflect because the truth hurts. Housel needed to see a therapist after those comments publically and it wasn't anything off the cuff- I have every reason to believe Housel thinks the way he spoke.

David Housel has been gone from Auburn for at least a decade. Saying Auburn fans should be embarrassed about anything he said would be similar to saying Alabama fans should still be embarrassed because Wimp Sanderson and Mike DuBose were caught screwing their own secretaries and then Wimp Sanderson punched his secretary in the face

It's just so funny to me that certain hardcare Aubies who love to call everyone associated with Alabama a crazy sidewalk then go out of their way to talk about how great and normal and sane David Housel is.
Lord knows most of the alums I know laugh at the sidewalk trash crazy people just as much as the Aubs do, but we don't hold anyone who loves the Tahd up as Jesus Christ. Some Aubs have a very difficult time with that concept.

I haven't really defended Housel. I just honestly cant remember that much about because it has been so long ago. I believe Housel left Auburn at the end of the 2004 season, and I would assume these comments took place sometime before then. You are talking about something that likely happened over a decade ago

I feel so sad for Bama fans that can't even enjoy being a Bama fan without constantly worrying about Auburn.
