The GOAT and the Raiders got him in the 7th round/183 pick. If Culverhouse had not cost him his Sr. season of baseball, he may have only played in the NFL.

He was the #1 pick. But didn't go. NFL stats not great. Gone after four years.

How? Was he not Tampa Bay's #1 pick in 86? Was his stats not average at best? Was he not gone after four years?

He showed up during the season......not going through any off-season stuff......took the first week off to get ready, then went out and wrecked shite. You should aspire to be that "average" in any aspect of your life.

After one year? Surely you jest.

Two years is a bit more reasonable, but I still think year 3 is when we start to dole out the bust label.

Not at all. I just said in the other thread that Claiborne and milliner are both is bad systems (for their strengths) and both are underperforming, and will continue to do so, until they move on to other teams. I think both guys will end up having good careers if they get into the right system and can stay healthy

He averaged 74 yards a game throughout his career, so he certainly didn't wreck shite like you say. However, as he was a 7th rounder, I would not label him a bust.

A first or second rounder that makes little to no positive impact on a franchise.

He was a 7th rounder because he didn't want to give up baseball. In 86 he was the first overall pick to Tampa. They wanted him to quit baseball. So he didn't go. He was going to quit football.

Yea one or even two years is harsh. Not many players can just step in and be a pro-bowler in year 1-2.

3-5 is an adequate time to evaluate bust status.

Also, if you start, not sure how you are a bust b/c you are actively contributing to a team.

Like, what do we expect?

I just realized Claiborne has been in the league for 2 years. Put him in the group with Trent and Dre Kirk.

At the end of last season, it looked like the lights were beginning to turn on for Milliner. He had three interceptions in the final two games and was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month. Calling him a bust is extremely premature.

What are the guidelines used to determine a player being called a Bust?

Bust (n): to not meet expectations that were set because of a prolific college career. The term is often used by fans of an opposing team to describe a player that had success against their team, but has not continued that level of success in the league. Often this term is used as a moral victory, as the last remaining line of trash talk from opposing fans when their team has failed to match the success of the "bust's" team. In 515 rushing attempts in the NFL, he averaged 5.4 yards per attempt.

Nah, that's certainly not wrecking shite. In 4 seasons, he had touchdown runs of 88, 91, and 92 yards.

Bo only played 7 games in his first year and 10 games the other 3 years. He wasn't playing full seasons. Nor was he at training and practice like the rest of the team.

He was busy being the best athlete anyone had ever seen.

Sooooo...where exactly are you trying to go with this? If Bo doesn't get injured, he goes to the HOF in 2 sports...

I think 3 is good, by end of rookie contract would be a good point. Because any time before that you will have guys switching back and forth from bust to not bust back to bust a lot.
