3 of those pictures are at the end of the game or after it was already over. One is from 2011 LSU after the game ended in a blowout. Hard to tell on the bottom one, but it appears it's alabama, and you can clearly see there is 1 minute left on the clock in the 4th quarter. one of those is florida from recently. i was at both the last ut/florida games in neyland. both games were maxed out in capacity. no telling when (before, after, during) the game that picture was taken, but i can assure you it was a sellout. the top picture looks like vandy or missouri from before the game had even started, and the big empty spot is the student section.

Every UT-Alabama game I've been too has been sold out. I've had plenty of fun in Knoxville and a great time drinking with Vols fans.

Vols fans are as passionate about their school as the next fan base, but it was really disappointing as a big fan of this rivalry to see the stadium get nearly empty in the middle of the 3rd quarter. You could hear their frustration as the game wore on, but man they hit the exits quick.

For the UF game, it is always sold out. But again, they have a tendency to hit the exits before the game is even over. I'm not talking about 5 minutes left in the 4th.

I don't mind Tennessee getting good again. It's great for the conference and even better for the rivalry. But tons of Vols fans think they have the most non-fair weather fan base in the country and they've filled up the stadium every game no matter what. That is far from the case.

I agree with you, but 10 years, 11 years for UF, of this shite takes its toll on a fanbase that is used to winning at high level. We should have high expectations at UT, and I'll freely admit that I left a few games early when Dooley was our coach. That shitshow was impossible to watch.

Dooley
while Botch is a better recruiter, he makes the same bonehead decisions Dooley did.

He makes some bonehead decisions, sure. But nothing compares to Sunseri, that was the dumbest thing I've ever seen a coach do.

I understand completely when we went through our stint with Auburn winning 6 in a row, LSU winning 5, and Fulmer owning Bama. We've had our fair share of fair weather fans and it fricking sucks. There's plenty of fan bases in the SEC that claim that they're loyal through thick and thin, but realistically, all have had issues with attendance and actually staying through the entire game.

Indeed. Leaving the games early in 2012 was more of a statement by the fans to the athletic department that we weren't going to tolerate a piss poor product. I still watched every game, and rooted for the team, but I refused to give the AD any of my money until they proved that they could manage it better.

Wish I could have that option with the federal government

the last game was close until the last couple miniutes of the game. the stands cleared out after ut threw an interception with a minute left. in the 2012 game, i believe the stands started to clear out when florida went up 17 in the 4th quarter w/ around 7 min left. it was a one score game going into the 4th, so i can assure you it didn't start to clear out until then. the alabama game was a blowout from start to finish.
