I'm sure it will be an impressive stadium, but it doesn't look imposing, dignified or elegant. For some reasons, from looking at the rendering, it reminds of a circus.

I agree it looks like the park where the Texas Rangers play....probably the same firm who designed the Rangers park did the artist rendering.....which would be a cool thing becuase the Ranger's field is really nice.....really hoping Aggie steps up the facilities since Bama plays them at Colllege station every other year..

That's an old rendering.

If you read the RFP, it discusses the new West side having only 2 decks, which is completely different. It also says we're lowering the field and adding 6 rows closer/lower to the sideline, which is not in that rendering. So, I wouldn't put much faith in the old drawing.

The playing field will be lowered approximately seven feet and moved approximately eighteen feet to the south. The relocation of the field will also improve sightline issues for the north end zone seats and allow for the addition of six rows of seating to be added on the east and north sides of the stadium.

Pretty genius way to handle the stadium's current configuration shortcomings with the lower level being built too long IMO. I had been curious about how they would handle this. This will put the fans closer to the field, while also centering the field in the main grandstand.

Only downfall to that approach is that the upper decks will no longer be quite centered, but 18 feet is unlikely to be too terribly noticeable...

That stadium is going to be unbearably hot in September/early October.

Once it's complete, the number of empty seats will soon rival DKR in Austin...

You do realize we had 87k+ in the stands this past weekend.....for SAM HOUSTON STATE????

Filling the stadium won't be an issue.

It will once you level out to the typical Aggie mediocrity.

What some people don't understand about A&M's projected capacity is that A&M has had a different growth trajectory than most other schools. A&M has only been a large school since really the 1970's. Enrollments at that time just started hitting 20 and 30K. In the 90's A&M consistently had enrollments of over 40K and now it is hitting over 50K. You have current classes of 8-9K replacing classes from the 40's, 50's and 60's that were only 2K+.

Instead of needing to rely on building the brand to causal fans to fill the stadium, you have a rapidly growing alumni base. That is a far more stable fanbase.

Any growth from outside the alumni base is pretty much a bonus.

We have been through this before on here. There is NOTHING special about A&M's growth. Most schools have grown at extreme rates since that time. This is just one more internal Aggie belief that has no outside world credence.

Why do you want access to the Aggie board? So you can shite on us all the time?

Your program looks worse than the massive shite that I took today. It is in shambles and you will be forever stuck in mediocrity looking up at daddy Aggie.
