This seems like a good place to toss out one of my favorite SEC trivia questions:

Which was the last SEC school (pre-expansion) to have won neither an SEC football nor basketball championship? As recently as 1988.

And no, it wasn't Vanderbilt.

Damn Alabama is fricking crooked. Three straight years of vacating wins, then all of a sudden, no punishments. Cheating bastards

The only fair way to go for this is to take into account all time records.

Alabama 71.6
LSU 64.9
Georgia 64.8
Auburn 63.0
Florida 62.9
Texas A&M 60.2

Yep. In 1988, Florida was the only school in the SEC that had never won either a football or basketball championship...their 1984 football championship having been vacated. They won their first basketball championship in 1989 and the football championship in 1991.

The most shocking thing here is that we're tied with Ole Miss. I honestly wouldn't have guessed that, but it just goes to show how much success Ole Miss has been having.

We have a history of kicking the shite out of teams on the reg, and players selling their scholarship paid-for textbooks back to the bookstore for cash isn't "cheating". Suck it.

The 3 straight years were all vacated as a part of the same punishment. It wasn't like there were 3 separate incidents. It was all one big investigation in which the NCAA discovered our players had been selling their textbooks for cash.

Yeah. Super crooked.

That is why they'll always be lnown as the University Of Alabama Cheating Bastids to so many. It's only a matter of time til it comes around yet again because they simply can't help themselves. I recommend the death penalty.

Was this during the semester or after? I didn't follow the ordeal. If after, then I don't see the fuss. If it was during, it opens the questions as to why the players felt they didn't need their textbooks in order to remain eligible to play.

pretty sure it was something to do with athletes being able to obtain extra text books for free and selling them to other students. i think it was an issue of the bookstore not checking to see what classes athletes were taking. since they get text books free with their scholarship, they'd go to the bookstore and get a bunch of books they didn't need and sell them. there were only a few football players involved but there were many many more athletes involved throughout the athletic department
